Flash Animators Wanted!
I want to go ahead and put out an open call for applications for new Flash animators for the project! If you're highly experienced in working with Adobe Flash or similar animation software and are interested in working with us, please send your resume and portfolio to beanbagroomstudios@gmail.com
We heavily prioritize people who have a solid portfolio of previous work that they can show us. Experience in hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation or previous work with pixel art are major pluses, as is some ability to code in ActionScript 3.0 or JavaScript.
Also, if you're curious about the Composer/Sound Designer positions: those are still in the process of being selected! I hope to have more information to share with you all regarding those soon.
Finally, I'm very aware of the big bugs in 7.7; I've rooted out most of them and a hotfix should be coming out within the next three days to rectify the biggest issues.
How's everything going? since everyone's gone quiet in their tumblrs I'm worried that they're getting disillusioned. You didn't have anyone leave, did you?

ReplyDeleteLiterally all you guys do is motion tween and morph some body parts, which takes a competent animator a minute to do complete. Why in the world would you need some one so over qualified, and knows how to do frame by frame, only for them do to motion tweening? You might want to lower your standards.
Maybe not all the animation is done by tweening and morphing the body parts? Also, it's better to have overly qualified person to do the work, instead of having to "introduce" a new amateur animator for 2 months before he or she starts properly working.

ReplyDeleteWhen I started back in november I thought people criticizing the slow progress of the game were over-reacting a bit. After more than 6 month of following the project I realize they were right. This project is a joke, at this pace it'is going nowhere.
I guess the team members are lacking a lot in skills and organization, it wouldn't be a problem if it was a little game on which they would work in their spare time. But they chosed to be ambitious and put up a Patreon. I understand very well that patrons are not their boss and the difference between the Patreon system and, say, the Kickstarter system. But still, they are getting money from us, I think we can expect a bare minimum.
They promised to do monday and friday updates for art and programming (blog posts showing their progress), but it didn't last long and maybe only one or two of it were on the expected day.
I guess they are just not taking this whole thing seriously; because, is it that hard to do a weekly blog post for the thousands of patrons supporting them ?
I don't know who is really to blame, but I do know that this team will keep on disappointing us. So I plan to cancel my Patreon support, I guess there are more serious projects to support out there.
Seriously, the concept of this game is awesome, the art is excellent, but this is really going nowhere.
...I Agree, and I will do the same; even more reasons now, since they will change a accustomed animator to a new one, which everyone knows that the last changes in the team brought that standard excuses: "he/she is just starting now, so there will be a necessary time to get used to the development speed..." then we will get half of we are getting now, which is less than half of stated by them before, multiple times.

Be honest and transparent, earn the trust of the people who support your project is not important? Now I see it, for you, the greed is more important. After so much time of laziness be honest with us would be positive.
What I see here is an amazing lack of balls, after a few years I think that we, your patreons deserve the so much conceit transparency. I worked in two projects where at some point an importat member leave it and I can assure you that is hard, really hard, even more if the project is not well organized and nested, and hide it is the worst thing you can do, unless of course, you care a shit.
And what we get is this, no mention at all to someone leaving the project, just a generic message of hiring people, in a blog, hidden for most of the people that support your dream, with a veil of say the half-true worthy of a politician in elections, quickly accompanied with a hotfix perhaps in an attempt to avoid attention, just enought to say "is there, I said it"...
No, actually, I'm planning to make a blog post that's a send off for Vanilly.

It is a pity that vanilly quited her job here but i do understand that she got a lot of stress animating also for the other team mates and that the project isnt going any better and further i hope she will find a new better job where she will be happy. Good luck to you Vanilly!(Rachel)

But I'll give it maybe till the end of August and if things don't turn around I'll just stop supporting until then hopefully things turn around. Although I'm a huge fan of this game and I really want to see it succeed I'm not about to donate to a porn game that has no porn in it

Wouldn't it make sense to reuse some animations for similar bodies? Elves, humans and catgirls have mostly the same proportions, some animations could be used by more than one race. That way instead of doing 21 animations you can do 7 for the sex and do harvesting or a different pose.
