Art Update and we're still looking for composers and SFX artists!

As we have announced before :

Submissions for composers are still open, from instrumental to vaporwave, we need someone to create a variety of themes! Break out your mayonnaise jars and macaroni, we're also looking for a Sound Designer! All those interested in the contract position should email us their portfolio at beanbagroomstudios@gmail.com!   2. That overused, silly doggystyle position again for neoteny harpy, similar to the dickwolf, catboy, taurus where we can't tell exactly if it vaginal or anal. Even the feral harpy penetration, it is more dumb since most f/breeder is covered. Well unless the wingy guy moves it wings away during animation. Such a down.

    2. Blood Marroon, my man, it worries me deeply if you cannot differenciate between vaginal and anal height for penetration. Did you ever watch porn with real women? You might have noticed that the vagina and the anus are in different place. If not, next time, study the scene carefully: it will become obvious, I'm sure.

      I for one appreciate varied poses, since "explicit" genital-showing pauses can get old if there's nothing but that. You're thinking as if every pause should be catering to your exact taste and no one else's. Seeing as you're rude and not even a patron, the motivation to listen to you is rather negative.

    5. It always seemed to me that the Stallion animation has the touch of the old style, with the heavy black outlines. I also noticed that there's a blank placeholder for Stallion X FElf in the game as it is.
      I'm still rooting for the MDemons (far down the line, yes, but still) to have a Tittyfuck Blowjob animation.

  6. I still think it's a little offputting how the Chickadee's head is turned sideways. It still looks like she's looking at the player. And also it seems to be the case with the generic harpy.

    It almost seems like the Chickadee's been caught in the act by someone walking in on her :P

  8. Just curious, but do you intend to ever do Neotony Futanari? Not that i'm into Neotony (I always disable it), but you do seem to have Feral Futanari, so I was curious if you intended, down the road, for that.

    1. Feral, neoteeny, and futanari are separate. Making their combinations would just add more animations, and it's not really that necessary.

    1. I dont think the device would handle it well :P I saw a APK file on the wiki, but ti turned out to be malicious, luckily I didnt try it. So be carefull, and dont download any APK's unless its stated here

  12. I would still prefer they work on a story rather then animations but that's just me. Hell playing SimBro feels more like a game because it feels like it has more of a story, even if the animations aren't as.....fluid as Breeding Season. That's not to say that I'll stop supporting Breeding Season and abandon it because I really do enjoy it and will still continue my donation, but it feels repetitive most of the time with its limited goals. I don't want to be drawing people away from this game but I recommend checking out SimBro for those who can maybe come up with ideas on what they can pitch for Breeding Season. But what about you guys? Would you prefer a story or more animations? Once again I would like to point out that I DO NOT want to draw people away from this game by talking about another one. Simply to use as a comparison.

    1. Both story and animations are good ;) Just remember that the story is written by HBomb (and eventually ideas are given by others), while the animations are made by Vanilly and Subtank (of course with the help of Spurple and FleetArt). So basically nothing stops them from doing both ;)

    1. It just depends on the monsters you breed. I recommend getting a monster with Incorrigible and All Night and work up both traits until they are at max (level 5) and then from there focus on increasing rank, which will happen from just general breeding. It's better to use Elves since there ranks tend to even out along all stats.

    3. The Breeder is stuck with a rank E across all stats for the whole game. Unless you get a special consumable (I forget what its called) but even that only lasts 1 day before changing back.

    5. Keep feeding them consumables. Each one of them has a certain percent chance of increasing the stats. Since it doesn't cost any energy to feed them, it's a good idea to feed your monsters something like Elf Juice at the end of the day as a matter of routine.

    6. Richard - it isn't a percent chance - there's a progress bar. Unless you mean a chance to increase the letter rank, which I've never seen.

  16. My "wish" for the next upgrade is for the "sorting" buttons on the consumables list to work. You can sort your monsters that way; it would make selling - and feeding - a lot easier.

    1. I think they didn't post an update this week either because they forgot, or there was just nothing special to post. Since the last update Spurple was working on the hair and face variants for Harpies, and probably on the facial expressions as well.

    3. I wonder if they'll be holding until April 30th before making the update. It's unlikely, I don't see the point and I really wish they didn't, but they must have something new to show. Or at least keep us updated on how little they managed to pull off. There's the art update, the animation update, the npc animation update...And it's not like they've been working on other stuff. There's been no updates on the wiki and we still have no embedded online version. I really don't see why there wouldn't be any update other than an intentional delay to (allegedly) match the closing of composer subscriptions. Of course, I'm just deducing.

    2. The thing is Mr. X is that they really don't have a huge workload. It's flash animation. With a team of 4 they should have all the work done a long time ago. My assumption is, is that they are intentionally waiting so they keep the monthly pay. It literally shouldn't take nearly this long. I'd suggest unsubscribing if you are.

      - There are 1,504 possible sex animations, most of them with multiple characters. That's 2,957 animated characters to account for, purely in sex animations and idles. (Completely disregarding menus, cutscenes, character portraits, items, minigames, etc.)
      - Each of those is planned to be a somewhat unique sex pose, with unique art, perspectives, etc. for each one. There's next to no asset reuse going on.
      - Each of those unique art pieces has something like 6 face or hair variations, which have to be redrawn for each animation. That's 6 for every 1 of those 2,957 characters, or 17,742 face/hair variants.
      - Before they can be animated, they have to be cut up, layered appropriately, and parts have to be redrawn to make sure they fit together.
      - Simply designing the above (poses, character designs, hair variant designs, face variant designs, color palettes), making them work in every variation, and making them not look totally stupid, requires time and forethought.
      - This team of 4 has existed for less than two years.
      - Only 2.5 of those 4 are working on the sex animations themselves. (Fleet does color palettes and I think some cutups, but his time is also spent doing bugfixes, minigames, in-house dev assets, etc.) It's not like it's 4 people drawing, and all 4 are also animating, and all 4 are also somehow programming.
      - Flash animation is irrelevant to the above points. All it does is lessen the inbetween frames that have to be drawn. And it comes with its own unique hurdles, such as the performance issues we've seen addressed in recent months.

      I get that people's eyes gloss over when they start thinking with their dicks, but this is not a light Sunday stroll. Even when you consider that not every pairing will be animated in-game, and even with Subtank now joining on the concept side, believing that "all the work [should have been] done a long time ago" is insane.

    5. Are you trying to use shock and awe? Because it doesn't work. This is FLASH art. It's literally a "Sunday stroll" ID suggest going to an art college.

      And no a community college doesn't count as an art college.

    6. Well the numbers that Clarion posted might or might not be fully correct, but he is right. Every animation has multiple stages (as was explained in the previous posts somewhere),
      -starting from concept,
      -coloring/shading/shaping it,
      -then making the variants (hair/face/facial expressions),
      -then cleaning up the scene (in case there are some misshaped boobies or something like that),
      -and then putting it together for animation (remember, that as much as the body movements are kept, the animation has to include different facial expressions for each variant, and sometimes different hair movement for each variant)

      All of the above are done basically by 3 people, but only one person does the art (Spurple), and only one of the animators works on each animation after variants are made (meaning Vanilly makes some animations, and Subtank makes some, they don't work on the same ones together).

      After that FleetArt or Hbomb still needs to check if the animation is properly working, and put it into the game without creating any additional bugs. Don't forget that at the same time they're doing other things like mini-games, events, gameplay changes, UI changes etc.

      So I'd say the fact that with all of those steps Vanilly is keeping a steady 5-7 animations per month is satisfactory. Also, Subtank is starting to make more and more animations per month, with the recent news that he is going to be taking care of the neoteeny animations.

      And finally, I know that sometimes it might seem like they are being lazy, but please, tell me that in a normal office you don't see lazy people. I actually applaud the BS team for being able to do this much work from home, because I know that 90% of people would not be as productive, as they are.
      Of course having some kind of management would probably help them with the productivity, but it's their choice how they're using the resources. Maybe in the future they'll hire more animators, or programmers, maybe not ;) If you don't like it, nobody is forcing you to donate.

    7. Clarion, you and few others who get fooled by wiki info. Hbomb himself said they are not going to make all animations.You can read it from previous old blog. Although he never state the fixed number yet, but we can assume it only 1/5 animations will be done by calculating the amount of animation delivered per month and their goal to finish this game in 3 years. So huge workload has been reduced, plus they are reusing same sex positions, we should expect them to work even better.

    8. Just to clarify, by far only one position has been reused, and that is the female breeder sitting in the "rimming" scene" for feral Harpy, and female Demon. Every other sex position was original and needed to be drawn. But hopefully the more they make, the more reusable they'll get ;)

Because even at a fraction of those numbers, the animations, nature of the pipeline, asset/code overhauls, and gradual growth of the team means it wouldn't have been done "a long time ago" in any reasonable form of reality.

    3. Yes, I saw a concept of the sow, sow neo and swine neo at their wiki. On the other hand, I did saw the concept of the Mandragora a long time ago and that didn't happened. The mermaids/mermans seemed to have left aside as well...Pretty sure they aren't adding any new content for a long, long time.

    4. True, The team will eventually get to the Swine and Mandrake variations but i'm not 100% sure on the seraphs will be getting some and they'll most likely wait until after the other animations are done first.

      When it comes to adding anything new monsters like the mermaids and merman have been put on the back-burner for now and stuff beyond that is still pretty much up in the air.

    1. If you have problem catching the streams (like me for example) it's possible to view the last stream of each of the members, just go to their picarto account, and check the "videos", and it shows the latest saved stream ;)

    3. Yeah, seems legit, the entire staff have no time of update the blog in more than 15 days. If you want to be up to date, aside from the (broken) promise of inform each week, you must use your free time on watching streamings because spend literally 5 min of their (totally proved not) full time job is tech as fuck XD Even the patreon have 0 news, try to do the same to your IRL customers and see what happens ^^.

  29. Okay, just posting this here since not sure where else. I had just started playing BS on Newgrounds. My game did not save, and since my internet is shoddy anyways, I decided to try the downloadable version. However, I have no sound, and there are no animations like on the Newgrounds version, which is like, a lot of the point. I'm assuming there are supposed to be animations. Anyone have a fix idea? :/

    1. Btw, I have tried enabling/disabling all the animations. All it does when I mated the critters is say "X" and "Y" mated. I have tried clicking the little megaphone icon. I can't seem to touch it. The three little bars meaning sound is enabled are still there, nothing happens. No sound.
