Hotfix 7.2.1

Hey, releasing a hotfix tonight that should be up in a few minutes. This will just address some of the issues introduced in 7.2 with the new way animations are handled. Continue to let us know what issues you run into, and we'll continue to hotfix.

Also, expect a blog update in the next week that will describe the new Ranch Assistant system, as well as an open call for fans to submit their own ideas for NPC monster requests!

We're on schedule to have a nice collection of new animations ready for 7.3, and I think you guys will be very pleased with the work the art team has been doing.

7.2.1 Patch Notes

Additions
- Installer - in addition to the .exe and .swf versions, we're now uploading a windows installer version that will install breeding season on your computer if you so choose. This version will be good for anyone who is using windows and has had trouble getting the game to run (particularly since 7.2). This will install an adobe air application on your computer in a directory of your choosing (and unlike the other two versions, shouldn't upset your anti-viruses). As we release new versions, it will also allow you to easily overwrite older versions. This is something of an experiment, so let us know if you run into any significant issues with it and we'll try to address them ASAP.

Bug Fixes / Balance
- Fixed neo demons not showing up
- Fixed futa hols, futa demoness, and futa titwolves faces not showing up correctly
- Additional minor bug fixes

Known Issues
- There may be some weird game behavior when monsters with disabled traits are obtained
- There's some small cosmetic issues on the new ferals, and some ferals lack color variants or have unfinished colors
- Pen silhouettes for some monsters are currently incorrect and show up as base monsters instead
- Some animations have been disabled or are glitchy due to the new overhauls and colors
- Colors are incorrect in a number of pens and animations

  3. It may be that you've always had this velocity and I just had no way of observing it, but from here it looks like the frequent updates are also helping you guys maintain a steadier cadence. Whatever the case, bravo. :)

  4. Sweet update, thanks! Looking forward to hearing more about the assistant :)

I was wondering though, has anyone heard the devs comment on the portrait size in the breeding screen?
Thing is, we spend a LOT of the game in that screen in the mid-late game, so I would love to see more of the monster art in it - either in the shape of mouse-over that shows the entire monster, or simply a reorganization of the UI. If for example the stats were made smaller and broken up in 2 rows of 3 side by side, then we could see almost twice as much of the monster. Of course optimally the game size would just be made a bit larger to fit all of it in, but that would require a LOT more work ;)
    Has this been discussed before?

  6. I can think of a couple of NPC types I'd like to see. Of course, playing them would be more fun...

  9. Don't know if this bug has been mentioned but when I breed monsters with no animation, sometimes the animation screen with the hay bail will appear anyways. It will be empty, and continuing the game is as simple as closing the animation screen but is new since 7.2

    1. I mentioned that before. My guess is that said scene is ready but has been disabled, as was mentioned in 7.2 Patch notes, due to colour errors or line art errors that will be fixed in a later update.

  10. Will these monsters be event monster npcs? If so you should add a male monster npc since you already have
Bailey, Eva, Kaliba, Yuelia for the females and only Amadour as a male.

  11. Hey, I know you guys have quite the workload as is, but I was wondering if having half-human half-monsters would work.
I know for harpies or catgirls it would be difficult, but I was thinking about stallions or dickwolves or something.
    Any thoughts on that, Devs?

    1. Not to dismiss your idea but like you said: the devs already have a ton of work to do which will already take them years at the current pace. They really need to prioritize finishing "old" content before adding new one.

  15. Hey, Just wanted to say that I went ahead and tried the installer for myself and got the game running just fine. it was quick and easy. From what I can tell there isn't any issues when installed and no error or warnings popped up. also wanted to take a minute to say that I'm very glad to know that you guys are going to be open to new ideas. I have a couple in mind that may or may not be useful and cant wait to share. keep up the awesome work!

  16. The game works fine and is fun, the only bugs I came over is the duplicate of the pink pearl when you have "I hate words" enabled and the disabled traits have been in the game for a few versions already so it's nothing new to me. in comparison to earlier versions so is the game acting more smooth now. keep up the great work guys! ( ^ - ^)/

    1. The Developers have posted this animation tracker on the wiki. There are a few errors on it and some of the animations have been disabled since 7.2 due to colour errors or line art changes but this is the best we have at this time. It also shows you just how big a project this game is going to be (over 1400 total animations). They have barely completed 7% of the required animations for just the breeding scenes.

      Check it out

  20. So can we expect an Update in six or so days? It would be nice if it included a number of enabled animations that we don't have yet.

I'm not an artist but, I am a perfectionist in what I put out on the web, so I can understand the desire to not put out anything that is less than perfect.
That being said, there is a point when you have to say, "this is as good as it is reasonably going to get in the next few updates so let's share it with our supporters. They are not going to suddenly flood us with emails all complaining that the colour is off or the image could be sharper."

Your supporters will appreciate imperfect content that is visible and plentiful far more than a single animation that they already have in the game that has had 100 hours of pixel cleanup performed on it that most of the non-artists won't even detect.
