Progress Update and Let's Plays!

Hey guys. Been working hard over in the stream. Just got some pretty looking weather particle effects added for the different seasons, and S-Purple and Vanilly have been working incredibly hard on generating as many different monster variants as they can. All of these are variants you can look forward to seeing live in the game within the next few months:













Right now Fleet and I are working out a rework to the way color variations are handled that will allow more and better looking color palettes for the various monsters. Once we're done with this we'll finally be at a point where we'll be able to include the four new monsters that have been waiting to get into the game for quite a while now and are now almost completely ready: Fluffdragons, Seraphs, Swine, and Mandrakes.






We still aren't sure how long it'll take to do the color variation rework as it will require us to go back through our existing animations in order to make them compatible, which will be a huge task, but we hope to be finished with it by the end of the month.

We're also currently working with V-Man, our new web developer, to finally get the official Breeding Season website going! It's already looking beautiful so far, and I may go ahead and post some preview images later on. S and V have been working closely together to make the site mesh really well with the game and I'm very excited for when we get to bring it live!

And, of course, as always you are welcome to come cheer us on while we stream our work!

Finally, in our free time a friend of mine and I have been doing some Let's Plays that I thought you guys might enjoy. The first playthrough we're putting up is the Ueda classic Ico (the precursor to Shadow of the Colossus).   2. I cant wait for the new website to come to life for us the breeding season community.
    But I noticed there was Nothing listed at all about breeding animations is that we have to wait for the new monsters to be implemented first before the new animations for breed animation are re implemented?
    And another I would like ask is the trait hungry being added back to the game?

    If it were to return I suggest it be called Gultany and it also your monster to be feed one time extra time per trait stack level.

  5. Are you pushing back the public release till you've got more to add to the game? You said back in the Patron 6.3 post that you'd put it out on the third but it's not out yet.

    Also, I hope that those Stallion designs aren't finished because looking at them next to the male one they really need more definition.

    I wish that figures weren't defined so sometimes you could end up with Harpies, bizarrely, just as busty as a Holstaurus or a Demon twice as hung as normal. That's all unfeasible wishing on my part but it'd still be cool if it were possible.

    1. The new public release actually IS up, I changed the public version to 6.1.1 a while ago, I just didn't make a blog post for it.

  6. What's the difference between fluffdragons and the female variant of dickwolves? They look very similar. It seems kind of redundant. Other than that, though, the variant designs are looking great.

    2. The Fluffdragons are larger have horns and longer tail I think the team are keeping the whiskers (maybe) unlike the Titwolf.

  7. they look great.but theres something im wondering about in the fbreeder x catgirl sex scene the catgirl has bigger boobs than her stat picture and her picture on this page,so is there going to be different breast sizes for the monsters and maybe the fbreeder?

  9. not quite a fan of new genders for anything other then the wolfs and demons. i love the art and will still enjoy them im just uncomfertable with it. probly because im too use to the set genders and i had it head-cannon that they evolved so they can give birth to other species along with their own because they were only one gender for many of them. but thats just me. i still love the concepts and the looks of them xD

  10. In my oppinion, the female monsters should have a bit more differences comparing to the males.
    For example, the "cow" man cold be more like a minotaur (a bit less human) and without the bell on his neck; demon woman more like a traditional succubus, curvaceous and with wings; female dickwolf a bit more human like or even more like another canine, maybe like a fox with smaller members and a elegant tail; and so...
    Also, looking foward to the female swine and mandrake (Rosemon anyone :P).

    2. IIRC there was already a "female version" of the mandrake planned. They were Alraune and were going to be similar to the one you can meet as a random event on the farm.

  11. Good lord...34 K a month now. Being pessimistic, and assuming Patreon and taxes take a whopping 50% of this (likely more than is actually taken) that's still 18 K a month (very close to the yearly pay minimum wage make where I live) people are paying for the development of this game. It appears the current staff are yourself, Fleet, Vanilly and S-Purple, so that's 4,500 a month each, if it's spread equally. While that's still an impressive number (depending on state), it's not as mind-boggling as a glance at the patreon page makes it seem. Now that things seem to be progressing, and you don't seem to be having a complete art assets redo (again), things should get interesting.

  12. Any chance someone here can explain how to save the game and get it to load properly. I have tried everything I can find and nothing works. I am tired of starting over and may have to pull my support for the game if I can't play and save my progress.

  15. Hey guys, just wanted to weigh in my two cents on the new variants. For the most part i really like them; I've always been a huge fan of the art direction of this game (minus a few of the usual complaints:P); however, I do have a few issues with them.

    One of the things I've always liked about this game was that the baseline males were a bit on the monstrous side with the females being more feminine and human (with a few exceptions ie. the male elves being very effeminate.) I've never had a problem with anything "furry" and really enjoyed that with the male versions of the monsters; however, it always made more sense for me that the female base forms be more human. The reason for this line of thought is the eventual implementation of the "Feral" trait.

    For those who don't know,the idea behind the "Feral" trait is that monsters would become more beastlike and/or animalistic; reintroducing beastiality into the game (the dickwolf becoming a giant, monster wolf.) However; with some of the current males, I believe that change would feel drastic and/or disjointed (the male "holstauren" becoming a full on monster bull from a mostly human base.) For the females; I figured "Feral" would give them a more "furry" appearance (the catgirl becoming more cat-like while maintaining a mostly human form) as having them full-on transform would be redundant (male dickwolf becomes a giant, monster wolf while the female becomes a slightly smaller giant, monster wolf) and would basically just be two wolves humping each other ;P.

    Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying i dislike the current female dickwolf or stallion/mare (depending on how it is implemented, I think they would be perfect variants for the "Feral" trait.) I just feel; as an above poster noted, that the male and female versions would be better suited to having more defining differences and characteristics. But that's just me throwing my thoughts out there.

    On a more personal note; why the rework on the femwolf? I absolutely loved the original concept and thought it fit perfectly.

    1. We're big on offering a wide variety of different monster/body types. Some people like more human looking male monsters and more furry/monstrous looking female monsters, and part of the idea behind the new variants is balancing that out more.

      As for the Feral versions of monsters; whether they're more animalistic or just more furry-like will vary from monster type to monster type, but we currently plan for them to be consistent between the male and female variants. So a feral male holstauren will be more like a minotaur than a bull, and a feral titwolf will look like a giant wolf just like a feral dickwolf would.

      A lot of this is still up in the air, though; we may have multiple levels of feral traits or different variations you can get, or we might even have a trait that lets you get more humanoid versions of monsters like dickwolves eventually.

      As for the titwolf redesign, while I did like that design the new one was made to be more in-line with redesign that the dickwolves are getting.

    2. It's weird, because I've always felt the opposite. While I don't particularly care about the female monsters being more human/generically sexy (bah, I'm used to it) I'm super glad that we're finally getting some male monsters that aren't just muscly, scowling anthros.

      It's a good idea to keep in mind that your preferences aren't everyones - doubtless there are some who are actually super into more animalistic females and prefer more humanoid males. :P

I'd had a thought- what if you handled the color scheme with a small array instead of a single variable? if you had X.Y.Z and set them each at 0-3, that gives 64 combinations, 20 if you don't care about order. if you tentatively assign 1- red, 2 - green, 3- blue, then it starts to give you some consistency in color schemes between species too, while still keeping pallets diverse.

    1. The problem with mixing colors is that a large number, and even most likely the majority, of color combinations just won't look very good. I had this problem back with super early versions of the game (back when it was my art and not S's). Having predefined color schemes can allow us to make sure that the colors don't clash too much and make them a lot more presentable in general.

      What we do want to do, however, is like you said have a little more consistency in the palettes between different species: so a reddish catgirl will most likely give birth to a reddish dickwolf, etc, but the shades will be a bit different to fit that particular monster type.

  17. are their any other designs for fluffdragons? i'm only asking because they don't seem dragoney enough to I mean looking at the tit wolf and fluffdragon they are way to similar to be considered a different species i mean the only real difference in the fluffdragon and titwolf is that the tail is longer and the face is longer than the titwolf. as for similarities they're legs are look the same their feet booth look like paws. also is what is the fluffdragon susposed to be a furry dragoness creature?

    1. The fluffdragon is a patron monster designed by a $100 tier patron. While there are similarities between the fluffdragon and the Titwolf, the Titwolf was meant to be in the game since the beginning.

    3. The original fluffdragon's inspired by Eastern dragons and Falcor from Neverending Story. The breedable fluffdragon you get is a cross between that and a dickwolf, so there's going to be a lot of similarities.

Mermaids will eventually be added in later now as for the $300 tier coming back yeah its going to be a while I'll just take a shot in the dark and say maybe 1-2 years from now since the team has a lot of work still to do. When it does come back you still got a big list of monsters to pick from.

  18. OMFG... Much, much more animations to do!! Main+futa+genders+neoteeny+neoteenygenders+harvest+feral will get U into a lack of poses I guess. - Titwolf has too short torso for too long legs, no? Furry human breasts again. - Too large breasts for neoteeny holstaurus, same for the demon. - Mare looks too slouching for athlete. - This foal's face should never get into the game, it's almost human, make it horse muzzle FFS.

    7. This is what you should have been reply first with then.Let the game be filled with flaws,whatever.I'll give it a try and point them out anyway.
      *FElf x Catgirl - elf's right leg turned really wrong, we can see her foot, she holds it in the air somehow and even move it. It should be put on the ground, aside or along. Cat's breasts look like bags attached to torso at level of shoulders because of outlines and the way they're segmented.
      *Harpy x Catgirl - stone harpy face, different expressions should be added. Long harpy haircut moves with head like solid.
      *FutaHarpy x Catgirl - where cat's right leg's gone? Solid tail swings in the air. Should haypile move like a jelly?
      *Futaurus x Catgirl - futa's looking to a single point like a blind (except loops it close its eyes).
      *Catgirl x Catgirl - shouldn't 2nd cat's left knee be over the 1st cat's torso? Legs are swinging in the air, should be put on the ground maybe? In 2nd loop right arm moves with 1st cat's head, where's forearm, BTW? Where's 1st cat's right leg as well? 1st cat is bended in a horrible way, wouldn't it be better to draw her just in a side view?
      *FBreeder x Catgirl - suddenly cat's breast become bigger. Right player's elbow should be lower, it looks like appearing from hip flesh. Strange moves with the left hand, a little lower maybe?

  22. About the only thing I'd add to all this is I find it a bit weird that the Stallions (male and female) have long faces, but the netonny has a flat one. just sort of...'wha...?'

    Stallion puberty must be heck, if their faces get that heavily grown out. Could explain why they are so ornery though.

    (I'm not actually complaining, per say - the netonny design for the stallion looks fine - just noting that the difference was a disconcerting)
