HBomb Streaming

Hey all; Vanilly, S, and Fleet have all been streaming their awesome work (which you can see every weekday at 3:00 PM CST over at https://www.picarto.tv/live/multistream.php?watch=Vanilly), and now I've finally gotten on the bandwagon and will be regularly streaming my work too at https://www.picarto.tv/live/channel.php?watch=HBomb. It won't be particularly exciting to watch, but I know it gives a lot of people peace of mind to be able to see the game being worked on.

Right now I intend on doing a constant stream of all my work up to the next release (likely it'll be late on the 1st), so feel free to drop in. I'll be working pretty much round-the-clock to get this update together, and I'll also try to answer questions periodically as I can.

I ran into a snag getting Vanilly's new animations to play nice with the monster variations code, so I'm working through that currently. How many new animations I'll be able to get into this release will be largely dependent on that (if I can find a quick fix for the issues it'll pretty much be drag-and-drop, but if not I'll have to rework a lot of things). Worst case scenario I'll have to develop some JSFL scripts to make the process go faster.

At the very least, the items and harvesting system should be largely functional (though still rough), and there should be at least a couple new sex animations in the game. I'll keep you all updated as things progress (and, again, you can feel free to drop in and see how I'm doing in real time over in the stream :P).

    1. Seeing him on the stream will probably be like seeing big foot on camera. Very rarely, for a few seconds, and you can't tell what it is because of the blurry low quality.
Or it will just be a loop of pre-recorded footage.

    2. Actually I'm watching him right now no loops of pre-recorded footage he also try's and let us know when he has to go somewhere and he talks to us about the game so far i'm enjoying it you should come join us.

  2. Does harvesting system working also mean harvesting animations?

  3. This is good. I was a fair way toward become rather disgruntled, but if this keeps up I'll probably go back to being a $100/mo patron

    1. That may be a while H-bomb temperately took done the $100 tier as he said that he needs to finish what he has now it was only adding more work to the pile they already had and I can understand that it was the right choice.

    2. You can still give $100 a month. You can pick a lower tier and say you want to donate X amount. Though not below the tier amount obviously.

  4. Did anyone notice that one of the patrons (FrigOfFury) wrote a whole BS story? Kinda goes off in a funny direction, but I certainly liked it!

  5. Hoping this doesn't open a can of worms or that someone has already asked this and i missed it, but I gotta ask, what ever happened with the whole project manager dealio?

    1. Nothing was going to happen to begin with - mentioning project manager was just a way to discharge situation and calm the mob down. No one here is actually interested in effective project managing, as that will shorten the development cycle.

    2. And wasn't the composer for the "Shovel Knight" soundtrack going to make the soundtrack for this?

    3. Anon @ 12:04

H should realize he can milk it AND have good updates. There is not agreement on # of animations, but the lowest it like 400. So 10/month would be 40 months, almost 3 1/2 years. Some people say about 1600 animations, which could be 20/month for 80 months, about 6 1/2 years. And that is without adding anything new to the game.
If there are 30 monsters, releasing 10/ month would mean each time he adds a new monster, or type of existing monster, that would be three more months to add those animations in.

    4. I like what you said to try and break down the animations and time involved. I've seen a couple people post similar things before and its scary because it seems like new character are being added far too quickly. Granted a lot of the recent additions have been npc events, but thats still at least 1-3 more animations for each new npc they add on top of all the current monsters and unfinished content. The work is definitely doable but the amount of work becomes more daunting with every new thing they add on top of the currently unfinished core set of monsters and animations. Holy hell will this be glorious when its finished though!

  6. At first glance I thought these are sparkles around H-bomb flame/head on the picture, like ''look how magnificent I am when working like a boss''. Then it appeared to be chair's buttons. Silly me.

  7. So from the projected 2 updates for this month we're getting 1 on the first of next month. Maybe.

    Keep up the great work...

  13. Can't wait i have been suggesting breeding season since day one when I found it. They all agree that this game is revolutionary toward the H-game genre. all in all thanks for such a great game

  14. We don't need you to LiveStream your code so that we know you're working; we need you to get done what you say you will get done within the deadlines you yourself have set. We've already gone from "two updates" in February to zero (with one promised but not delivered by "late March 1st"), and from "upwards of ten" animations that might appear to "a couple," and down on items and events to "largely functional." I realize that once you started redoing the code, that you had to finish before it would be workable ... but you don't appear to be learning from your own mistakes about estimates and managing expectations. You've got a strong, supportive fan base. Recruit them. Offer $1000 to whoever can figure out whatever you can't ... or offer a $10K prize to whoever can come up with the best code based on your set of specs. Put your support to work ... it will help keep the troll population down, and maybe help get you a breakthrough.

    1. Allow me to say I feel the opposite way. Engineering schedules are always tricky to predict. I just want to be able to check in and make sure things aren't completely off the rails.

    2. Of course I'd allow it ... I'm not here to be a troll, even though I'm frustrated as a fan. And H-Bomb did deliver an update, as we just found out. I agree with you about the problems predicting an engineering schedule; we've been encouraging him to set realistic expectations for that very reason.

  15. I'm confident that I speak for the whole community when I say we are all enjoying the last two updates that arrived on time, as promised.

  16. Nice. I like this, although I admit since I know zero about coding I probably won't be watching the Hbomb stream (probably cool for people who are into that though). I've been loving the art streams.
