While H is busy rewriting the code I figured it would be a good time to show ya'll some previews of the upcoming animations , here on the main blog, I've been workin with our new animator Vanillycheesecake to bring you the most varied batch yet
Thinkin that's all? NOPE, due to some miscommunication I've had to redesign the fluffdragon patreon monster to be much much larger, here it is ~!
But that's not all either, I've also been working on remodeling the holstaurus face and hairs, at the moment its heavily work in progress so it'll be shown later sometime this month or next!

ReplyDeleteAbout the new Holstaurus design, I liked the older one way better but I'm fine with you updating your art, what I feel she's missing though are her nipple holes, whatever they are called, the current Holstaurus (the one we have in the game right now) and the new design you posted on your blog has her with just plain nipples no hole. About the Harpy scene with the Catgirl, I love big juicy thighs, but I thought Harpy filled the niche for a more slender petite body type, doesn't her thighs there look ultra huge? Compare head size and thigh sizes here: http://i.imgur.com/liBwu1P.png
I know some people complain that your characters look super fat, I'm really fine with Holstaurus being really plump, and other characters having good thickness, but would love to keep the body diversity with Harpies.
For the record, I'm not sure whether it's just a male thing, or just general ignorance... but that's not actually how nipples work. There's no single 'hole' in the middle of the nipple; that isn't how it works... on ANY female, of ANY breast-feeding species. I know that's not a technical reason why they aren't drawn that way in a highly unrealistic cartoon porn game, but... Meh, I enjoy my smut more, the more realistically believable it is, personally.... so I find giant ponderous nipple 'holes' quite a big turn off, just as a contrasting point to your own preference.

DeleteI knew about it, having seen tons of lactation videos, I've seen how milk actually comes out, it's something like a sprinkler with pretty much all of the nipple pouring all over the place, what I didn't know is how much of a factor was the hole in it, figured I should look wikipedia for a while but I didn't want the post to get way too large and go into a dissertation though, and the post was getting too large already, so I was afraid others wouldn't bother reading.

I agree for the most part to keep the proportions consistent. Particularly with the catgirl buttstalion and harpy catgirl. the harpy's ass just gained 20 something lbs and the catgirl's boobs look inconsistant on these animation stills. boobs don't really hang like that when a girl puts her arms up unless she is bending over but I'm not seeing the shading for that. the boobs then looks significantly smaller on the scene with the holstarus. I dont mind variety in boob sizes, in fact I appreciate it just so long as everything else matches which it feels like some of these animations are a tad rushed.
DeleteI agree I like the old designs for the catgirls and holstarus a lot better, although I really think it would be best if you just kept both and had a tonic or something that changed them into the newer designs or something like that, or maybe make it part of feral traits.

In comparison does it look better now. But I feel like the new Holstaurus has a too smart and lustful expression.. kinda.. I guess. It just feels like it should be a little more motherly. Softer, rounder and more loving than the new face, but not so simplistic and mentally simple looking like the old one. And the nipples with indentation really seem to be more fitting than the new ones.

I suspect that's all in planning though! So I'll just be patiently waiting for it. Will you be doing same species scenes (eg catgirlxcatgirl) also?
The content creation atm is focused on ladder progress, first we do all the x catgirl H-scenes, and then all the x dickwolf H-scenes , etc.

The quality in question never was high to begin with, but the current stuff, paired with much more detailed actors from S-Purple, is to put it bluntly - bad and jittery (IT WILL IMPROVE TM). It's simply shoddy.

Don't want to spoil the party, but buttstallions have been renamed to stallions months ago, so the eponymic reference to a certain sexual preference no longer exists. Besides - the game is called breeding season for a reason. Producing offspring doesn't seem to work only by frequenting the back door. Not even by breeding season lore (as of yet at least).

ReplyDeleteI'd actually like to see more stuff in the same vein as this on here. I love going to s-purple and vanillawhatsherface's tumblrs and seeing what's coming up. I actually know more about what's planned from the game just perusing through their tumblrs than I do from H-bombs posts here. What monsters are planned for the future? What affect will npc affection eventually have on the game? Will there eventually be tournaments to determine which monster gives the best blow jobs? If H-bomb spent less time putting up incomplete builds and more time just summarizing what's planned for the game, I think everyone would be a lot happier.

Dunno.
From playing it for the metagame of 5.3, I can tell you that only ONE monster was ever useful for stats, elves. When mass-breeding for modifiers, it inevitably comes down to how lucky of a roulette you get at the beginning and then eventually of elves. Because everyone else had a 80% of negative modifier, and a shitload of trouble to deal with it. (I fucking hate individually feeding monsters) it's way fucking easier to cycle out 3 elves at a time with 2 elves as main lineage and just breed in all the positive breeding modifiers you can possibly do without breeding stock unlocked.

Deletethe new system is less clear to me. I'm not seeing the progress of stat increase (strength, dexterity, willpower, etc..) Just a pure number. You're now at STR lvl 8.

That's because this new system is broken!
DeleteNumbers near stats do have an effect on monster. In examle high number FER will give you better chance to breed. Try to compare monsters: one with 10 fer, one with 50 fer - the second monster will always have better pregnancy chance. This works fine.
Letters near stats may have an effect while monster gains level. I think in the moment that monster dings, each stat has a random chance to get upgraded, or not if you're not lucky this time. It seems that letters doesn't affect upgrade chance, but rather the upgrade amount. Stat with "-" will never rise. Stat with "E" may rise a little bit. Stat with "D" may rise a fair amount. This way up, to the "A" or sometimes there's "S" on the top. Can't say how it works here, because best letter i got was C!!
And that's the problem with the new system! What letters will new generations inherit is totaly random bullshit! Try breeding when both monsters have Str = C. Results will be completly unpredictable. Usualy offspring will be born with Str = D or even lower! What stats parents have just doesn't matter, offspring will be simply random!
In old system two positive stats (like Str+) used to give neutral or positive stat at offspring. The question was if the positive factor will be passed to offspring or not, but there was no risk about geting reversed factor! You couldn't get Str- from two Str+ parents.
Therefore selective breeding was efficient and recomended, eventualy your monsters have had all 6 stats with +. In new system selective breeding makes no sense at all! Why would you bother with that, if offspring won't inherit adventages from parents anyway? Now you just need to get any shity monster and gang bang it long enough to ding the level requested by customer.
5.3 = BREEDING season
further versions = banging spam
If I remember right, H-Bomb said that the numbers weren't balanced yet; hopefully he does it sooner, rather then later.

Looking at the comments on S-Purple's blog, I can see that I'm not the only one who feels that way. However, I can also see that many people like the new designs. Since the old art has already been done, would it be possible to set up some sort of switch at the beginning of the game to select between the old face designs and the new ones for the catgirl and holstaurus?

DeleteIt's the size of the eyes getting smaller. The big, cartoonish eyes are "cuter" than more realistically-proportioned eyes. There was also something about the expressions ... I mentioned once before how the Kittengirls had sort of a "saucy" smile that to my mind made them more appealing.

DeleteI'm not too keen on the Femwolf design. I'm fine with a muzzle, but that one doesn't look right to me. Not sure why exactly, but it seems too... clean? and not particularly wolfy to me. Similar problem with the body. The limbs and neck have a cool feral look to them, but the body seems incredibly prim. All over it seems like it's trying to be both feral and smooth/clean, and I feel like as a result it accomplishes neither.

DeleteIt's not meant to be a fem wolf, it's a patreon requested monster called a "fluff dragon". So that would be why it's not very "wolfy". iirc s-purple has a preview for the actual femwolf on his tumblr somewhere.

So i would hardly say this game leaves people out of the equation with a few exceptions including vore and gore.

I mean, take all the animated content of the game and count how much of it is m/f, how much is f/f and how much is m/m. You'll notice that there are only fucking three m/m animations, dickwolf/dickwolf, demon/elf and stallion/elf, and for many m/m fans the last two doesn't even count since elf boys are femboys, practically futas without breasts.
Now tell me, if the devs included one or two m/m animations (preferably ones that do not include elf boys), would it turn the game m/m oriented? If you say so, then the least I can say is that your point of view is terribly skewed. Instead, all we get are promises that there will be m/m content.
Hello! I just wanted to drop in and say that while the poses and animations are not as abundant at the moment for mxm, they are not being ignored! In short, if you can select it, you can make it breed/have the Male player breed with it. We have plenty of mxm content being made as I type this! It's just a little difficult since we're trying to fill in as much content as possible since there's so much work needed to be done. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Thanks for taking the time to address our frustrations on the topic of m/m content. Believe me, we're a small community but, due to the lack of m/m-oriented games everywhere, we're loyal to any good-quality game that may happen to cater to our interests.
Anyway, would it be too much to ask for a little update on the topic? It could be in Vanilly's, S-Purple's tumblrs or, preferably, in the blog itself, just to show us whatever you've got (even if still unpolished and sketchy), just to rise our hopes.
Well, right now we have a list we're going through. The first is the catgirl, we're trying to finish all her possible combinations (posing and animating), once that's done we'll move on to dickwolf and so forth. I don't want to sound rude, but the reality of life and capitalism is that gay people are a tiny minority, and such it makes more financial sense to generally prioritize content for the bigger audience (unless you are specifically trying to target said demographic). DeleteI can understand why you feel that way. I'm new to the team so I can't attest to how the pipeline was handled before, but we're now working on a monster by monster basis, and not by preferences. Dickwolf is next down the list after catgirl, so anything that you can currently breed with will have an animation with the dickwolf (like stallions, demons, and such). Then the next monster until all current monsters have been finished. Afterwards, the other content that hasn't quite been fleshed out will come in and the list will start over for that particular monster. I hope this helped anyone for understanding the process and priorities for the sex scenes!

ReplyDeleteIt's not that it's hard, it's just that sound is one of the last things to be added to a game. This is still in alpha; there's no point in recording the sound until the script is complete, if you will. They need to save room for changes to the plotline and character development before they start locking down the sound themes.

ReplyDeleteI mean, not to compl- ... okay I'm just complaining, but seriously it's been months since I've had really any interest in this game now. All of my old favorite monsters from the earlier builds have changed and look mostly just like super-buff people with animal heads and feet now (which, not to diss the artist, but I really dislike that style) and there's absolutely nothing feral going on.
Have they just fallen out of demand as the increase in artists draws a larger crowd of people who want something different? Or is that an "I'm Harpistapipebomb it's my game I'll do what I want" thing and he just totally changed his mind from his original idea?
Personally I was only really interested in the feral monsters in the original idea (which is just dickwolves and the stallions), and I used to always look forward to the new animations and content, but now that they're out of the picture I only return to check for updates on this website with the wishful hopes that they actually return someday, like the un-clickable "Feral" checkbox at the start would imply.
Fret not anon! The current monsters do not have the feral trait! The actual Feral monsters are still being worked on. They're going to be a lot more animal like! Please keep in mind though that we are not machines and cannot pump out massive amounts of content (And there is an overwhelming amount of work needing to be done) at lightning speeds. We're trying our best I promise you!

I just want to say how much I appreciate folks like Vanilly taking the time to read these comments and reply. On the other hand, these things can turn into cesspools of entitled whining*, so I you asked me as a patron, "Hey, should we be reading and responding to the comments?" I would probably say something like "Er, probably not." It's just so dispiriting, I think. YMMV, of course. Maybe you don't get bothered by all the negativity.

DeleteTo S-Purple; in my opinion as an amatuer sprite artist, your original designs for the Catgirl and Holstaurus were very DIRTY, but in a very good way (and, I'm not talking sexually, either!). I mean this by; the pixels in each frame were very thick, something I honestly have trouble with when trying to make them seem natural, or right.
Now it's seeming that they are becoming very clean and thinlined, which is also good; this leaves a lot more room for detail, or shading.
I assuming a lot of people are thinking that these monsters are fatter because they're used to the '3D' border created by such thick, hard black lines are now becoming thinner and cleaner, making them appear to fill out more.
Either case, I think you guys are making wonderful strides. Keep on plugging, and;

ReplyDeleteThat's because 5.5.1 is an unfinished demo that the Patreons got last month. It cycles with Patreons getting the newer, more complete versions first, then a month later H-Bomb drops it here for free.
DeleteThe next update needs to have some actual meat on its bones, so to speak. S said so himself, the artists finished up a ton of work while the overhaul happened and people are really getting tired of demo builds now.
ReplyDeleteHowever, even if Mr. Bomb would only focus on implementing dialogue/events and animations now, i'm fairly sure that the next version-up will not even catch up to the amount of content we had before the overhaul started.
If anything, there should be one person who works on implementing dialougue/events/flags exclusively and another who gets those animations/images into the game. If Mr. Bomb continues to do all of it plus reworking everything all the time, i'm afraid that this game will never get finished.

DeleteNo he does not. Just like he didn't need to overhaul the entire thing from scratch at the same time. Work can continue piece by piece but the fact remains that there wasn't any significantly new addition to the game for many months now. In fact, the last few builds were demos for stuff that was already in the game ages ago, it's just a bit different and better looking. What is needed now, to appease the minds of people who are losing their confidence, is to give them more than just a bone. If we can believe S_Purple, then there is already a good chunk of content just waiting to be implemented.

How is he going to build stuff when the foundation isn't up yet?
DeleteFor example, how are you going to get to the beach event if the map doesn't work yet?
How are we going to get feral and neotiny, when the traits is still not up?
How are you going to get any of the morphs, if the item system is not finished?
What if knowing how the code for those "features", are absolutely essential for being able to port and build events, breeding etc?

DeleteI'm sick and tired of demos and waiting. Looking at S-Purple's blog, i can see all those fine creations and i want to see those in the game. I don't give a damn about those so called "basics" any more. already saw and played those till i puked. I want to see something fresh. Events are just events. They are triggered by many circumstances and i doubt that those are all missing still. The same goes for animations and images.
For goodness sake, get more people to share your workload so you can insert some actual content.

I just want H-bomb to finish his build, so that he can focus on the animation and events without having to think about the unfinished features. And in the worst case prevent a situation where he see's something is wrong, meaning he would have to rewrite animation and event scripts.

However there are other games out there that may be worth looking into, such as Fall of Eden (also accessible from Fenoxo's website, albeit also quite "WIP") and Flexible Survival, for other text-based games, and for non-text based games - anyone heard of Lusty Labyrinth (both "Male" and "Female" versions)? Kinda fun and silly, in a sense like this game

ReplyDeleteProve my math wrong, gentlemen, but judging by the ongoing tendency of gender bender sir Mittsies will have to animate at least 119 scenes, which S-Purple has to draw, not considering any new monster species, npc sex scenes and any other sorts of mutations. Quite a goal even for a team of animators. I don't want to be an alarmist, but it may take really a big peace of time just to animate existing farm creatures.

ReplyDeleteOh wow, loving the animation progress! I like the variety and detail that is shown, especially with the differing expressions from scene to scene! (I actually like all the artwork, even as it changes, since I enjoy the game for the humorous aspect and not the porn. I'm apparently too logical to enjoy watching porn. I just end up analyzing it and picking out all the flaws or laughing hysterically at some of the surprising things you find out people are into.)
