Progress Update
Hey guys, just putting up a small update to let you know I'm still working on getting that request system working. I'm pretty excited with how it's turning out so far; it'll be a small addition at first but I think getting requests from the actual NPCs will add a lot more interest to fulfilling the client requests. I'll be hotfixing as soon as it's in working order.

So I mean this as a pick up for you but I'm not a patron. I do love your game but sense I'm under the age of so so (you don't know how old I am I could be 16 or 61 mah ha ha). Any way Id like to say to look at so called trolls as drill instructors from the military. There job is to get in your head and break you(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygQvB6OjHOU). why you say its to weed out the week(if you cant take the heat get out). are they important just as important as you're comrades or fellow friends who when you're down will give you some confidence, as the drill instructor continues to hammer you. Know you may ask why well without drill instructors aka trolls you only receive good news like child drawing a shity picture and his dad saying it looks good(not really improving or getting better ). But my point is that they provide a balance in the internet weeding out the uncapuball or the bullshit so it's like a tough love. So on you're next post or some time later because, I know that its confusing to say ill try to clarify it more so its easier to under stand. After all I'm not a professor of sociology. BTW I use "I'M" a lot don't you think so.(H-bomb please respond so I know that I'm not talking to thin air)
+1 to you dude, i share your viewpoint in trolls being needed. From a business perspective it's not good for future client to see a wall splattered with "OMG WTF 3 months without working game" etc. That reflects the current product. So in order to expand, one must lower the amount of "critique" (aka trolls) you have so new clients might invest :P

Also a lot of people dislike people who only say negative things without any kind of positive feedback or attempts to construct, this is difference between a troll and a real drill instructor, the instructor will let you know when something isn't up to par lol not just complain about everything that someones worked on without any input.

DeleteIs there any chance of us getting a list of planned monsters/variants in the near future? Like are there eventually going to be two sexes for all monsters or only some? Also ignore trolls and people complaining about deadlines, deadlines are shit, what matters is the game is better than it was and it's getting better.

Well I know that they got a nice list so far in the past posts I've seen a lot of monsters some from the $300 tier like the Swine and the Fluffdragon and some that the people and H-bomb came up with like the Cuntwolf and Fearls i'm sure there will be a vary impressive list when H-bomb posts it.

ReplyDeleteI like how a dollar a month is too much for "poor people". Just throwing this out there but you're likely too young for a debit card. Anyone else care to hypothesize with me? I just think it's funny how many people beg for the free releases like a dollar is some outrageous boundry.

DeleteH-Bomb doesn't owe us the plebs anything, so I think it's perfectly fine to wait a month or 3 until we get the new releases, it's not air or food anyways.
On the other hand I have asked if Kay's minigame will ever see the light for non patrons, even if we have to wait years and/or until patrons get a new minigame added for them. Which I feel it's a bit different from the this other person's post, which gives the impression of begging.
Like I said before, the sensible argument is, "if you want that game so badly, why not spend a few bucks on it, it's not much" I actually have money right here, and if I could teleport it I would. I'm also over 21 (referencing your debit card comment).
But thing is, where I live, it's very hard to get access to a credit card with international capabilities, or transfer money outside without being a bank's bitch, which I hate a lot.
And again, H-bomb doesn't owe me anything if I haven't paid. So I'll just wait and wait, but still ask if there is a chance in the future for content.

Besides internet is addictive and people can be even very poor, but always have some money for their drug.
And he could always use hotspot for writing this comment.
Or he could simply not be from America, but from a country in with dollar is pricey, but having internet is not (because it's not imported).
Or he could just need internet for job/have internet connection at one.
And in a case where one or all of these are true, it makes him entitled to get free things? ^

And, yeah, he can stop doing it at any time, but it will have consequences (like people getting free version illegally, many bad comments about it etc.).
It makes him entitled if there's some system to support him. And here it is H-Bomb good will/cleverness.

DeleteLike, the more people can get it, the more it will spread, the more people know about it, the more people might consider going patron.
So yeah, dropping public releases is not necessarily the best thing and increasing the OFFICIAL scedule of it too much might just make people lose interest / forget about Breeding Season. If you get a public release every 3 or 6 months you might not come back to check the games progress at all.
But yeah, no need to talk about public releases if the actual updates are lacking too much on the outside, cause if you got nothing to do in the game, then there is no use for an actual public release.
So I'd rather say get the game into a playable state again, then make an up to date release for everyone and then it's back to the regular scedule of public releases 1 month after the backer release.
After all, this whole rewrite is supposed to be one MASSIVE change after all and considering how most updates were just minor progressupdates barely worth playing lately, I don't see a reason to trickle down those over 2 months as public releases now. That would just be weird.
Ruia that's a silly argument. No one's entitled to his works just because he said he'd make the game available free. As 1:51 said, its just way to advertise your game without cash out of pocket. If people like the game and want the latest release, those who can will support (patron) or buy it. Doesn't mean anything he creates is someone else's right.

Thanks for the heads up. If you're excited, we're excited. The last version was looking pretty good, though it would be nice to have the save system back, and some of the traits and animations we had before in 5.3. Looking forward to your continued progress :)
ReplyDeleteMan, $1 a month isn't that much at all and nor is a month a long time to wait, especially as you can easily find previous versions to play online. I can't help but feel most the people complaining are underage (which would explain lack of credit card among....other things).

A guy making a game that you're clearly not paying for in any way is creating something really interesting and learning how to develop and project manage as he goes? Honestly, he's living the dream in many ways, and though we may envy that, he's earned it through his creativity, work and the personal stake he has put into his creation. I don't see what there really is to be annoyed with. Desperate for new content/updates and immature, I can see, however. And that's exactly what I see when people lash out with this false sense of entitlement and phone internet rage leading people to make such statements. As a non-patron, especially, what in the world gives you the right to make demands of someone else? Do you hassle all game developers (or any creative artist) in this way? Man, I'd hate to have to be the person who filters through Gabe Newell's junk e-mail.

To the ranting man, I think what he is trying to say is that it gets kind of annoying when he continuously hypes his project , only to time and time again give it to only patrons, and leaves us other guys out in the cold with no comment saying when they will get a finished product. Mind you I love his work, I'm a five dollar patron myself. It just seems like recently hes been kind of a sellout

DeleteTechnically they aren't wasting air because they are not talking they are typing and you could argue the fact that they wasted air while breathing while they typed out their ridiculously self centered comments about how they should be entitled to something as it comes out that they haven't even payed for but how are you certain that they didn't hold their breath when they typed their comments? Aside from that I think that people should get their heads on straight. If you don't want to give a single dollar to the man don't be mad when you don't get updates right away. Also for the people still wondering when the general non-paying public will get the update for free he has said time and time again that he releases that one month after the patrons get it. If you can't do the math of when an update comes out to when a month after that is then frankly you probably aren't old enough to be playing a game like this or are so dense that I understand why you can't spend a single simple little dollar so you won't have to whine to everyone about how you have to have a little bit of patience. That is the way that I feel about people who think they should get get get and never give run on sentences and all with out proper commas. :P

Don't get me wrong new GUIs are always nice, but I mainly play the game for the sex scenes. I usually Cheat Engine myself money to get that out of the way of the porn ;)

ReplyDeleteI think you might be better off not bumping the version until you've got a relatively well rounded build of the game w/ the new code base. Call it "preview #" or maybe "6.0 progress report #" or something, hopefully to make it a bit more obvious that people shouldn't be expecting a fully playable game

DeleteUnsure at this point but please remember that he's rewritten the code and is currently working on getting all the game function up and running again. I figure new animations and monsters will happen after he has his code working again.
DeleteOn a side note I am not part of the Breeding Season Team and am Just Speculating as to what is currently in the pipeline. I will also admit that he has released a version just to show his backers his progress up to this point.
what do debug codes do? d they add any animation?

Example, i has a albine buttstalion, but i looking for one whit white skin and a total blackdick (remeember it has 2 colorrs) then for can obtain it i needed try do multiple breeders and springs xd. I loved play to do diferents colors combinations, but now with the new system it is not posible, all offsprigs have random colors :(
