Alpha Build 4.5.2

4.5.2 is now up on patreon for donors. Fixed the hair and eye variation for the catgirls in the catgirl/dickwolf sex animation, some of these variations look a little goofy likely we'll go back and refine them a bit. Also a new catgirl random encounter event was added, it's a bit basic and will probably be expanded a little later.

Update on the 30th will probably be mostly interface and bug fixes.

I'm going to sleep.

  2. Thanks for your hard work man, It's a complicated gig to have a game that is fun to play and still be considered a sex game.

  3. If you haven't gotten it by now, this will stress the hell out of you. Might wanna focus a little more on mitigating that stress by adding more people to your team.

  4. Workflow:

I think it'd be wise to replace the old models with the new art first, instead of adding more stuff such as encounters. I'd suggest concentrating on one monster a time. Dickwolves and Catgirls are a fair start. Completing these two with all animations including haresting and "player interaction" would be a fine milestone and proof of concept in my eyes (which also means replacing the old player model).

Better avoid amassing more and more loose ends. It's just more fun to play with a smaller but solid (in the sense of roughly complete) base.

Keep on the good work, you two!

  5. You really showed your dedication there! Have a nice and well deserved rest^^ And I dont think the encounter should be able to fuck anything up and Im looking forward to seeing it^^

  6. I have to say, from recent events while I was working, you should really treat this is your job. By that I mean NOT pulling all nighters to get the fix out. Limit it to a standard work day, don't kill yourself, and if people complain, make sure you understand that the majority of those that would do so are not aware of the amount of work a project like this is, or how many things could cause delays or small bugs. Just because someone else doesn't understand your work and time does not mean you should work overtime, get over stressed, or lose sleep to meet their expectations. Some of them are going to be entirely unrealistic.

That said, I appreciate all the work you have put in and look forward to seeing where this game heads next! Thank you!

    1. Absolute bullshit. He gets a ton of money and slips on deadline he himself set. I'm working with an artist, publisher and a good deal of private commissioners. If I would deliver so little, be late and even TRIED to defend myself/shift fault, I'd be without work faster than I could say "butt stallions like butts".

Right now, updates have a really mediocre of content, especially considering he's working on a base he programmed a while ago AND another guy is responsible for the art content.

Author needs to get his shit together, make a good work-flow and deliver substantial updates - because right know I'm not convinced for support. I agree though, that pulling all nighters isn't the way to do stuff. The point still stands, he shouldn't HAVE to pull that all-nighter at all.

So stop defending an obviously botched update and bad work ethic.

      Are you posted it here?

    3. What's that have to do with anything? Your comment has no meaningful input whatsoever.
I'll entertain you though and remind you what I wrote - I'm not an artist, I work with one. It's small duet, but we get by. I'm a responsible for client contacts, workflow, scheduling, pricing and a bit of marketing/ads.

    5. Also, sorry If I came out a little hostile, but I'm annoyed by this sheep, cult like mentality this project is forming. It's absolutely unacceptable to justify such things for which he's paid for loads of cash.

    8. He's absolutely no competition to me as I'm not a competition to him. Completely different genres and themes (firstly, he's making a game, and we're selling art). I doubt our client base even overlap. How would I gain anything by hoping BS fails? How? I'm posting anonymously, I think there are no other games developed that are close to this (thematically speaking).

Maybe you artist is more talented. As you can posted his works here. And we will donate for him. What is problem?

  7. Anon @April 27, 2014 at 2:10 PM

Are you honestly retarded? Or just trolling, because "hurr-durr I haz internet accez"

Who would commission any artist worth their salt who stoop so low to "promote" himself like that on some other's guys blog? HOW? WHY? That doesn't even make sense. It's unethical, it's unprofessional. It's morally repulsive. As I said before, I'm posting anonymously. For a reason. Christ.

I'm here as a private person, but I'm using my work experience to form an opinion regarding current state of affairs. That clear enough for you? No more, no less. I don't want to promote anything. And as I said, I doubt that our client base even overlap. Why do you think my artist even draws manga? (Or hentai for that matter).

  8. As why you here?
You need to be on other forums(like gallery of modern art).

    1. Because I obviously can't be interested in hentai or like hentai games, right?
      That's just silly now.

I imagine that work standards for working on deadlines are pretty much the same no matter the genre. Alas...

    2. I think it's just the vehemence with which you attacked him.... I neither agree nor disagree with your points but lets face it, had you done the criticism in a calmer matter it might not have caused this kind of.... hmmm.... well whatever it has caused.

  10. This blog has become the most screwed up mix of shit storm, shit storm haters and lazyness I've seen in a long time. Thus I'm having a great time reading this.
But seriously, Hartista is not your employee and none of you is his boss. Someone posted he would buy something from a shop if the quality wasn't delivered (or something similar), but you aren't going to a shop. It's more like giving a street musician money because you like his music. (As for the people who ordered a new feature, they knew, that it would come in once the game is rehauled.)

Also you could sroll a little bit down before asking the same thing over and over again. In the first release notion for donors he stated, that it will be the 6th or 7th for non-donors.

    1. Nevertheless, you're wrong in your parallel. Hartista has his "bosses", exactly 1117 of them with varying degrees of "importance". More like shareholders, but still. Instead of one big publisher, he has about thousand smaller ones. Sure, if one guy with his 1$ funding takes out the plug he won't feel it. But if he pisses of a lot of them?

And there's stuff to be pissed about. It's completely unalike giving a street musician money, as it's no longer a donation, it's a full fledged funding for a fucking product. With specified details. And when you're paying for a product - publisher at least gets some of the income out of it - and you have a lousy update you have the right to be mad.

    2. While us patrons are paying him, this is not a kickstarter. If we are displeased with his progress we can show that by withdrawing funding, otherwise we are just jointly providing him with a means of living and production so he can take this project out of hobby status and put in something closer to full time work.

It is up to the individual patron to decide if continued financing is worthwhile.

From my personal perspective, I will tolerate a certain amount of sluggishness while they streamline workflows and get a good work dynamic together. A solid base is required to support any decent work. However, that being said if this was the quality of update and work that was being produced a few months in the future, I would heavily consider withdrawing my support. There is no reason to throw good money after bad.

  11. Wow, 27 interconnected anonymous comments, and not a single mention of the game. I'm glad H-Bomb is sleeping through this mindless dribble. You can really tell when someone who understands absolutely nothing about programming criticizes someone who's mastering it on the fly.

Nicely done H, the animations still need some transitional frames, mostly arms shoulders and thighs. the UI is still cutting off the trailing edge of the numbers... might want to consider using a typeface 1 Pt. smaller rather than resizing everything. (Way less aggravation than resizing the windows!) The consumable counter still doesn't bring up a second digit ..... All of which you already know.

Something a little newer ... you should look into the timing/balancing of when Margo comes to offer "Aid" I was actually doing really well last time I played through (4.5.1 Exe) and then Margo showed up 3 times in one month and gave me so much money that Delilah raised the taxes the next month to something completely unobtainable ... she needs a little "constraint' or maybe just not counted as "income" s it were.

The new color pallets seem to work together well, but the "Mustard Yellow" Dickwolves are a little hard on the eyes... maybe something more "sandy/dirty blond" (no one would buy a dog the color of a highlighter ;-)

All in all, Really nice ... I'd say you must have spent a lot of time cleaning up the old code to work with the new animations, They are running a bit slower then in 4.4, you need to start getting a handle on that now before it gets away from you. but you pulled it off nicely.

Enjoy the rest... splurge tomorrow, no cold pizza and warm beer for breakfast, you deserve it.

    2. Yeah animations are slow and CPU load is at 100% at times (especially if i try to fullscreen the game). You definitely need to get that looked into; optimize the code maybe; limit FPS of something; haven't done any flash programming - can't give useful comment there.
