I suppose this was only a matter of time with the awe-inspiring rate that you guys have been pledging to support this project, but we've already broken the $5,000 milestone! I didn't think we'd reach this point in six months even, but we've done it in under a month! Now I have to wrack my brain trying to come up with more goals!
As for who will get added to the team next; it's going to take some time for us to decide what role we need next on the team (a dedicated animator? a dedicated writer?), and after that it will take us even more time to decide who we're comfortable with and who shows that they're really on the same page with us and gets the style this game is going for. A lot of people have expressed interest in helping with the game (and by the way, if I haven't gotten a chance to respond to you yet, I will make sure I do so). We're going to be looking for someone who has a good body of work/portfolio available for us to see, and someone who can dedicate a lot of time to the project.
What we're looking for:
Animator - Heavy experience with Flash absolutely necessary. We're also looking for someone who shows a high level of competence with animation fundamentals; someone who understands movement and weight and how to convey it extremely well. Must be able to do over 80 distinct types of boob jiggle :P.
Writer - Looking for someone who is not only very capable writing erotica, but can deliver natural-sounding dialog and, above all, humor. Your work should be able to make me laugh.
If you meet these requirements and you have a good deal of previous work that you can show us (this is an absolute must), then contact me at HartistaPipebomb@gmail.com.
Now, as for 4.4.1:
4.4 Patch Notes available here: http://breedingseasongame.blogspot.com/2014/03/alpha-build-44-and-3000.html
If you'd like to get access to the new debug codes, you must be a $10 or more contributor on Patreon; you'll find the debug codes under the Creations section: http://www.patreon.com/user?u=108351
Also, we now have an IRC channel, you can come on if you want to chat: #BreedingSeason on irc.rizon.net
Note: We got a little bit of face-time in a /v/ thread today so there's a temporary influx of trolls. I recommend against feeding them :P.
Awesome. And just in the nick of time to be released on the 6th for me :p
ReplyDeleteIf you do not find a writer you can ask me anytime. You can find a few stories (erotic) of me on Sofurry.
ReplyDeleteJust look for the name "Imya" or the story "The Order of Future".
Just leave me a note there if you are interested. (I am not so fond in sharing my private mail openly and I do not have a mail for this kind of stuff yet. If we would come to an agreement this would be a different story.)
IT'S UP!!!!!
ReplyDeletenice "new" animations...
ReplyDeleteSo what's in this .1? Just bug fixes?
ReplyDeleteYup, just bug fixes.
DeleteAre you going to fix the fact that half of the art is compressed while the other half isn't? It's incredibly obvious, especially in the new UI and the Alraune sprite.
ReplyDeleteThere's an Alraune in game? O:
DeleteThey are not compressed. They are replacing vector with raster graphics.
DeleteThere's .jpg compression on the new UI and other smaller parts, but the buildings, backgrounds (even for the under construction areas), and various NPC art is completely fine. It's not a matter of vector vs. raster graphics.
DeleteSome of the UI is incorrectly scaled, it's a known bug.
DeleteActually it is vector>raster move fault. The "faulty" areas areas are just low res jpeg's that when zoomed in or in full screen view look awful. But i guess to SOME it is a progres.
DeleteThe compression for jpeg's is set the same for imported files the same ammount in flash.
They're not jpegs they're pngs -.-
DeleteWhy would I use jpegs?
It's the same kind of compression you'd see in the average .jpg image. I didn't mean they were saved as those.
Deleteboth are raster so it does not make a diffrence. It is fault of low res art. used in flask app that people SCALE UP
DeleteTo clarify; the issue is that they're fixed-size pngs and they are being rescaled by the UI, leading to the observed "compression". It's still something I'm fixing.
DeleteThe game is also not intended to be zoomed in. You should play it in an 800x600 window.
DeleteWould you like an IRC channel made for the game? It would be a lot easier to ask questions and report bugs instead of mashing refresh on the comments section. The LoK forums aren't much better considering each post needs moderator approval.
DeleteI'm totally open to someone making us an IRC channel, if they'd like.
Delete#BreedingSeason on irc.rizon.net, unless you'd rather have it on a different network such as Esper or something.
DeleteEven if you will "fix it" people will have this problem as soon as they view it in full screen. Just try with ANY jpg/png/whatever in for example 512x512 and view it in full screen like FullHD. And there will be a little "noise". Raster is not scaleable.
DeleteIt's intentionally not scaleable. It's made to be viewed in an 800x600 window. There's no fullscreen support, that is by design.
DeleteAnd to think everything was fine when it was in vector
Deletefacepalm
Would you mind me mentioning the IRC channel in the LoK thread? It's kind of funny how much of this conversation has passed without my initial (outdated) post being approved.
DeleteIt wasn't designed to be viewed in fullscreen when it was in vector either :P, the vector sprites aren't detailed enough to be viewed that closely and there were bitmap UI elements.
DeleteThis isn't a problem that was introduced, the game was never meant be played at anything other than 800x600, the option only exists because I've never bothered to disable it.
It could not be even MORE colorful? (That is sarcasm if someone did not get it)
ReplyDeleteMonsters floating in the air around "inder construction sign" Really?
Those colors...
Verssion 4.0 is far more superior,
And dont delete my comments. Cant belive peoplw payed for this
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
DeleteI agree i prefer 4.0. 4.4 is not as great as i thought it would be would of been nice if it had more content but i guess its a small team i will give it another month before i even dare to think about a donation.
Deleteif anything it was a downgrade not impressed
DeleteLook man, it's still a work in progress. It's an entire redo of the art. So many people want all these things done and act like they want it NOW. So H-bomb feeds us what he can, as fast as he can. It's not just going to *poof* be complete on just one update. Just relax and wait for a few more updates before being so judgmental.
Deleteyes wait for the updates as they get longer for none patrons -_-
Deleteyou change debug code 'givememoney' whats de new code?
ReplyDeleteRead the fine print and you will know all
DeleteI'm very sorry, but is: "If you'd like to get access to the new debug codes, you must be a $10 or more contributor on Patreon; you'll find the debug codes under the Creations section: http://www.patreon.com/user?u=108351" not clear enough? Please READ before commenting stuff like this...it saves everyone a lot of time.
Deletea rip off tbh i feel sorry for the horny fools who paid for this
DeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
DeleteYou're doin it wrong :P
DeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
DeleteOkay, some problems I've found...
ReplyDeleteThere's the whole 'under construction' bit, for one thing. If you didn't have new backgrounds for the pens yet, wouldn't it make sense to leave the old ones? While seeing a Dickwolf's butt directly on a construction worker's face is mildly amusing, the whole effect is a bit upsetting.
There's also a big problem with selling your monsters... if the requirements list is too long, there's no way to scroll. So I have a gold level monster I need to get, but I can't find out what the breed is. It's not a fun guessing game at all.
I'll let you know if I spot anything else.
You can use the mouse wheel to scroll in any spot where scroll buttons are still missing. That said, we're still working on how we want to have to scrolling work.
DeleteScrolling doesn't work in the inventory. And I don't know if this is just luck or if the chances have somehow changed, but my character got pregnant 2 times out of 5.
DeleteAlso, since I forgot earlier and I don't want you to think I hate it: I love the new characters, especially the girl running the consumable shop. And the new scenes are interesting... I think I'll find fantastic use for the Alraune nectar. Is that going to be a monster in the game at some point?
Oh! Crap, I better go find a mouse then, huh? Sorry; I forgot to the refresh the page before leaving that last comment. XD
DeleteYeah, sorry the mouse wheel solution isn't ideal :(. I'm planning to hotfix more of the UI before the next big update.
DeleteAs for the Alraune; its been a planned monster for a while, but it will probably be on the back-burner for long time since there's a lot of other monsters we want to get in first.
its really not fair that u have to pay 10 bucks to get the debug codes u could at least give us one dont have to give us all of them i would pay if i could afford it and i didnt have a joint account with my over protective mother and y didnt u just keep inside of pens the same instead of puting the work in progress thing in
ReplyDeleteYour account shows PATREON not anything bad. You could even get a $10 gas station Visa card and pay. From the way you talk it would be a more than reasonable investment. We're not really paying for codes, if you really like the game then why not help to make it better?
Deletejust to be clear do i have to pay today or will it not charge me til next update
DeleteIt'll charge you monthly.
DeleteIt sounds like you are only doing this for the debug codes... Is it so hard to just play through the game?
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
DeleteShould go without saying, but I ask that you please don't post new debug codes in blog comments section.
Deleteand the true is... the "real" (new models, art, animations, ect) version is only avavible for de "patrons" yeah
ReplyDeletesomeone had to do it know :D
the "real" version doesn't exist yet.
DeleteThe patrons gave money to support the creation of the "real" version, not to buy it, as it obviously isn't done. This is a patron speaking fyi...
If you go to the store and for example buy a car or PC do you get it in parts ascar( tire, wheel , engine), or PC(resistor, PCP plate)? Especially if you pay someone 5K in a month? Or if you go and buy game do you pay for it when it is a final product or not? People like you have too much money to spend/fap.
DeleteHe could have very well also just inserd paypal/donate buton in game and on site and it would be without all that "patron/pay" MESS
And because of people like us funding this, you get to have the game for free. We aren't paying for anything. It's an investment. We are helping to fund the project so that H-Bomb and S-Purple can spend more time working on the game.
DeleteThe Patreon is all donations from generous people who want to support the development of the game. The game is free. The rewards (early updates, access to debug codes) are meant to be a nice bonus for people who want to give to us in order to see the project succeed. There's no DRM or such BS. People can share the early releases of the game or the debug codes as much as they want and it's not like I'm going to stop them; I simply ask that they don't because it's intended to be something nice we're doing in return for our donors.
DeleteIf he wands it being "fund" he could just inserd paypal/donate buton in game and on site and it would be without all that "patron/pay" mess each month avoiding this WHOLE situation.
DeleteOn a side note: he still gets money even when he achived the 5k goal. ALL other projects after reaching goal go to development and not continue to bet money endlessly. Just look around how real fan made projects are made like for RPGMaker games. Obershooting over the goal makes it just money making machine that stupid people fall for.
There is no mess. Well, there is, but it's people being stupid and impatient. I still have a whole other bunch of things to say but arguing is pointless. It's not your money being wasted. Shut it and get over it.
DeleteHi H-Bomb,
ReplyDeleteIf all the non contributors that don't understand the concept of a work in progress are done ... ;-)
I'd like to recommend compartmentalizing the "selling" menu in the semen shop the same way you handled the breeding menu. When you get a ways into the game and pick up the combination of Geyser-X, and Greased lightning-X traits; you can end up with a ton of consumables to sort through. "Sell All" is nice, but if you're also not wanting to loose your precious Alraune nectar it would be very helpful to be able to select "Dickwolf" and then hit sell all. Same goes for the feeding menus ... so you don't have to scroll past dozens of demon fires to get to that one Harpy Grease you need. It would also tend to make the UI on the selection menus more consistent.
Yea 4.4.1 has some bugs, but that's what Alpha's are all about. Don't let the nay-sayers get to you. It's only been supported for a few weeks. I'm more than willing to put up with a few glitches to watch this develop. (I'll give you to version 4.5 ;-) I'm happy to support the project. I can't wait to see where you take it.
PLEASE have S-Purple update the "winner Graphic" on the next release ... I vote for a pin-up of Delilah getting Dp'd by a
Demon and a Butt Stallion on a bed of money ... but that's just me.
Thanks, and don't forget to keep us in the loop as to the voting site when you get around to it.
Oooh, I second this idea... I always end up with a ton of catgirl squirts I don't need. It's a pain to sell them one at a time, but I never want to sell everything... holstaurus milk ends up being too precious to waste later on. XD
DeleteI've never seen the winner graphic... it always updates before I win and I lose all my progress XD
Don't worry too much about the trolling; the blog is getting some face-time on /v/ currently so we've got an influx. I don't like to delete posts as a lot of criticism is useful, but if it gets out of hand I may clean house.
DeleteAnyway, thanks for the UI suggestions! UI design is one of the biggest things we need input for right now.
The only issue I'm seeing with the current writing/dialogue is that it's a bit longwinded. I tend to skip through all of the lore, since it takes up so many pages.
ReplyDeleteAnd for that, there's a handy 'skip this scene' button underneath the bottom left corner of the dialogue box. :-P
DeleteWell yeah, I use it. An effort should probably be made to trim the fat, though.
DeleteWhy? Other people, such as myself, enjoy the background. If you can easily skip it, why remove it and deprive the rest of us?
DeleteI see where you're coming from as a lot of my writing could do a better job of getting to the point. I'm sure I can probably stand to trim away some extraneous wordiness and still keep the story/background/character intact.
DeleteWTF... i waiting so much for a ALPHA version of ALPHA of ALPHA DEMO of a BUGGED CRAP game with no new animations or sounds, you really think i will pay for a 2D jpg game?
ReplyDeleteNope.avi
DeleteWe don't need you lot.
yeah, is like a downgrade and the money cheat changed, my god why?
DeleteFor goodness sake, you don't even have to pay for it. If you don't, you don't get the cheat codes and you get it a week later. It's not like they're stopping you from playing for free.
DeleteAnd how did you miss that this game was going in small steps? Every new update has bugs that get ironed out.
Is it sarcasm?
Deleteso when is the next update coming?
ReplyDeleteFor patrons: shooting for April 19th, 23rd at the absolute latest. After that there will be another update on the 30th (that one is 100% guaranteed).
DeleteFor public release: two weeks after donors get it, so between May 3rd and May 7th.
why the increase in wait time ?
DeleteBecause that's how long it'll take :P
DeleteI meant for public release
DeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say, as a paying patron; keep up the good work. A lot of people don't get how much time it takes to code, draw or animate something. You're in the process of replacing pretty much everything, so don't pay any heed to the folks bitching about "lack of progress". As long as there is incremental improvement version to version I'll call it a win. I have no doubt the end result will be worth it and I look forward to seeing it improve as time goes on. Looking forward to the next update!
I'm happy to see you guys getting so much support for your work. But don't get a writer! I actually enjoy your writing H-Bomb, it's funny and clever (much better than other flash games I've tried). One thing I suggest with the funds is to actually keep it as rainy day funds so that you can continue working on the game for as long as possible. A lot of kickstarters when overfunded become overly ambitious with the game and end up spending more than they have.
ReplyDeleteI notice you are pulling animations for the next few months, this could possibly indicate a drop in funds next update. I think we can all agree that what players want most is for continued full time work on the game so you can consistently pump out updates.
You might want to tone down the experience, and other, requirements though.
ReplyDeleteWere I at that lvl, I wouldnt be working on an online game as relatively small as this,
and if I did I wouldnt be working for free.
I suggest you open up a public entry for people who want to help to submit any examples
of stuff they could do, and then you get to pick from these which one you like best.
Can you do something about the colors? Everything seems positively brown which is not very nice to look at. The interfaces are really busy as well, could probably use some work.
ReplyDeleteI would also make the creature take up more room because that's really the part that people are most interested in. I don't see why 80% of the screen should be filled with stats and filters while only 20% displays the actual monster.
Except that, there's not much to say about this update, doesn't seem like all that much was added this time.
Well, I think there are some issues with the newest version for sure. Certainly with the new monster stats and the contracts. My first bronze contract wanted a monster with strength over ~120, but the highest max strength guy I saw for sale was in the forties, with most having max strength scores under 20. The silver contract called for a strength score around ~140, and the gold required a high ferocity score, and after 3 reshuffles of the monster list, not one of them could boost ferocity.
ReplyDeleteI think the game could probably do with some optimizations of the code as well. The newest version of the game runs at a painful crawl on my laptop. Earlier versions where much smoother aside from sometimes being laggy when changing areas.
Looool, the new carpenter guy is a qunari.
ReplyDeleteAren't there new sex animations in the game?
ReplyDeleteHey, you should start hitting up some of the veterans of LOK forums, if you haven't already. Corta is the person the person that pops in my head, they've done ALOT of really cool stuff but towards the end just kinda hopped around and didn't finish anything.
ReplyDeleteI also notice with the futa trait appears even when you decide not to have in the game
ReplyDeleteIt should show up on the monster, but you should get no futa animations.
DeleteNorton 360 removes the downloaded file with warning: WS.Reputation.1.
ReplyDeleteLikely because it's a .exe it doesn't recognize.
Deleteso how do i download and play cuz i cant open the file
ReplyDeleteHere's what i tought of this build :
ReplyDelete- The random events are a really nice addition to the game, it breaks rythm in a good way and is actually making the game a bit easier early and late. The time the event takes to happen seems to not register on the clock, thought. And maybe you should make it so it would happen only in the morning / after your first daily visit in the town ; Being able to back and forth to town in order to "force" event seems a bit broken.
- The random dialogs when you get in town are funny at first, but it gets redundant quite fast. I'd suggest making it so you get each line of dialog once.
- The new breeding interface I don't like. The old one with monster's faces was a lot more easier to navigate trought. Also, the blue / orange square to pick which monster you wanna select is missing.
2 things:
ReplyDelete- while I would like to donate, I'm not comfortable with giving someone enough access to my credit card that they can take money from it every month. It seems like there's no option for a single payment or PayPal. Too bad.
- The interface needs work - I'm talking about the Breeding and Store menus. Not only does it use only a small amount of screen space, so it feels cramped and gives a poor overview, but there's something about it that just hard on the eyes. Weather it's the contrast, the jaggedness or the colors of the new style, it just tireing to look at, and looks unfocused. The store is a pain in the ass now. What you should do is to have tabs for each monster with 8 monsters in each tab. Right now when you have multiple dwellings, it's practically impossible to find the monster you want, even with abuse of refreshing (which you normally can't do because of the price increase).
I'll make a mock-up on some improvements.
you could always sign up and then deomit after u pay for an update
DeleteIf the creator initiates a charge, you will be charged at the beginning of the next month. You can check the amount, edit, and/or cancel your patronage at any time. See payments FAQ
DeleteYou'd be making payments through Stripe to Patreon, which in term releases money to the creator. You really would not be giving any direct access to your card.
DeleteHi Team, was there ever a 4.4.1 Flash version. I see the EXE on the blog, but not the flash. I can live to the next update, I'm just wondering ... Thanks
ReplyDeleteSo far the only gripe I have is the lack of scroll bars. Scrolling up and down feels a little too jagged and rough (try it with a mouse wheel, it feels dirty). Sorry if it comes off as nit-picking, it's just that I got so used to BS having scroll bars that the whole thing feels weird without it. The up/down buttons at the top and bottom are nice, but I almost didn't even see them at first.
ReplyDeleteBesides that, though, loving the new direction the art and visual design is going. One more thing (last thing, I promiss), some buttons like the ones along the top could use some float-overs to show what they are (even if you use the ones still in the game from the old art versions). Once you get use to them, I imagine they are much easier to use, but new players may find them hard to see/read or simply difficult to understand what they allow access to until they get the muscle memory down.

ReplyDeleteAs I've been playing through, the things that bother me most are:
ReplyDelete1. Can't see the breeding mods/stats of monsters when you have to decide which one to get rid of when your pen is full.
2. No scroll bar in the traits section when there are more than two traits, so it's difficult to tell if a new trait has been added to monsters with human intellect.
3. The absence of the blue and orange buttons in the breeding pen makes it a bit more obnoxious to choose the monsters you want to breed when you accidentally choose the wrong second one. Example: Going to the catgirl tab and choosing a monster, then going to the demon tab to choose a monster and accidentally clicking on the wrong monster. Instead of just clicking the orange or blue square and selecting the right monster, you have to click the right monster and go back to the catgirl tab to select the original monster. I never realized how convenient that was until it was gone. o_o;;
Sorry if that was a bit disjointed.
Feature request: Make it so that clicking anywhere on the dialog box advances the conversation, instead of us having to aim at the tiny triangle. Also please put in an option to alter message speed because it's infuriatingly slow right now.
ReplyDeleteJust use the space bar in dialog boxes for high speed reading ;-)
DeleteTo add something to the scroll/button discussion:
ReplyDelete- Scroll wheels are a nono for Mac users, so that would be by far the worst solution for us.
- The lack of blue/orange button(s) in the breeding screen REALLY gets frustrating after a couple of 'missclicks'. :)
- I double the idea of putting more 'sub-windows' into the UI, mostly for the Consumables.
Also, the Inventory where you can sell monsters could be divided into two tabs: one to see your monsters' stats, and another to see the requirements for bronze/silver/gold clients. This would not only provide these requirements more space, but you could also invert the way selling works. For example, first choose 'Sell' or 'Select' for one of the clients, THEN the game shows you which of your monsters fulfill the requirements, by opening a new window.
Keep up the good work! :)
YAY! feels good to donate to a good game. ima start playing the newest version later tonight.
ReplyDeletehowever, i do have some questions,
1) is there any estimated time line on when that feral trait will be availibble? or is the icon on the options menu gonna be a place holder for a while?
2) do you have an idea on when ther game might produce an actual save file? i can only play it in my browser useing the .swf file, but if the browser errrors it breaks your save. rather anoying once youve manged to get fairly well established.
3) as you are looking for new aditions to the team, and you have it set up (but currently disabled) to alow input on new game content through donation, but im wondering if we can still submit 'soft' ideas for interactions and such?
4) as this was a topic of interest with the previous builds, on the subject of your current undertakeing to do the animations per monster, does that mean that you will be including the cum animation for each set, or are you simply trying to fix/finish existing animations.
again, i just wanted to clarify those points. i do like the game as far as 4.3, and the newer art is looking good to, so i am anticipating the new version.
Can someone post me a link to these new debug codes or something?
ReplyDeleteclick the donate link above, once you have signed and and did the donate thing, the link to the debug codes will be avalible on your home page of the donation site.
DeleteBut $10 for cheats is a bit much D: $1 - $3 fair enough since you need the cash but $10 is like a whole video game from Steam or 10 humble bundle packs
ReplyDelete
