Status Update
It was sprung on me that family will be visiting this weekend so I won't be releasing the next update yet. I'm actually planning on possibly delaying the update until next weekend just so I can have more time to polish up the stuff I've been working on, as it's rather rough. I'll keep you all updated.

Just stop anouncing deadlines. You almost never keep them. I understand, that rl is more important, but it just seems lazy and your reputation isn't the best at the moment.

ReplyDeleteif you're intent on setting deadlines all the time, assess the amount of work it'll take to do what you want to, assess how much time that would take, and add a week or two.
that means that when the deadline arives you should be guaranteed to have the promised stuff ready and might actually have extras
I suggest just doubling the time you think you need, that way there is always time to add in a little something ;D

Or as Scotty from star trek once said, add a few hours onto a project which will only take a handfull of minutes, then when you get it done all the sooner it makes you look like a miracle worker, but if something goes horribly wrong or something comes up that you need to work around before you can get the job at hand done - you gave yourself the extra time to do it and do it properly.
DeleteAnd here I was hoping that after your last few news updates (especially the giant one you posted), that you were on your way to proving your consistency. I understand real life happens, but this is all doing nothing for my desire to purchase a membership.
ReplyDeleteBeing honest, real life is definitely more important than projects, but it seems that your credibility is being harmed with the unfulfilled deadlines. I am interested in purchasing membership, but I am not yet certain that I will, as I am not fully certain because of the deadline issues.
ReplyDeleteI'd personally love too see what progress has been made with the game today, as this would give all followers a chance too see what you've been working on, and, in effect, fulfil a deadline, giving confidence to all whom are interested in purchasing membership.
not that i didn't expect this sort of thing myself. and i agree their needs to be some sort of estimation to how much work/time will be invested before a deadline should be posted..
ReplyDeletebut i also sort of feel for haristia... its just he/she working on this thing, and its a BIG job. and all the whining about poor animations or that they feel rushed... what do you guys expect when your in here pissing and moaning about not getting what you want every five min...
he at least tried to give us something. your all rushing this situation, and your the reason the last few updates have been substandard, he/she is doing their best with what they have.
lets all just have a little patience, be understanding, and wait for the end. haristia has proved he/she can do very good work with the original game before the updates, but who knows how long it was worked on it before it got posted...
I totally agree. I also think that if the next update comes, and it's big (which it will be, i think..), people are going to see hartista has really been busy. i do hope he'll keep his promise now, and he will update next week...

I'd have to agree with the general trend here. it's your time, and your life, and that's more important than this game. but if you are planning on charging for memberships, you'll need to be consistent.
ReplyDeleteI would advise not making deadlines. give us posts every week or so just saying what your working on, and when an update comes around we'll all be very happy. but making deadlines you can't keep is not good for your reputation.
It's ok i completely understand as the old saying go's all good things come to those who wait. Still loveing the game keep up the good work hope to see this game continue to grow.

DeleteSadly same story different day. Like everyone else has said, just communicate where you are instead of setting deadlines. This trend of a post then dissapearing for 2 weeks followed by a post saying it's not ready will get you no where.

ReplyDeleteGo check fenoxo's update blog, take some notes and copy them/ improve on them.
I doubt there are many that wants to send money to someone that keeps delaying stuff on the last note.
You should probably set small goals to work towards each update, and if you then see that it might take longer than expected, tell the people in advance that you are having a problem that is most likely going to take a lot of time. and if you somehow manage to fix it before the deadline, everyone will be happier.
yeah, just tell us what your up too every now and then, no deadlines. it will be done when its done, but pop in and say hey i was working on 'blank' today. maybe post a picture or two to tease us XD
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I don't care wether or not the deadlines are met as long as he shows up and says "oops, shit happened so it's delayed." It's nice to have an estimate though. Great game, looking forward to seeing more.

Hart, you read the results of the survey right? If you want to monetize this and get people to sign up for memberships, you're going to have to show you can deliver the good first. This is a step in the opposite direction.

ReplyDeleteMaybe you should rethink the way of setting deadlines, like setting one for in three weeks or so and not saying what's supposed to go in. Then you can release at least something, be it animations or whatever. Also you might want to consider to keep a few things in stock so you can release them, when something came up again and you aren't able to do the actual release.

ReplyDeleteI'm happy I never contributed money here, as it would give me strong feelings as to the outcome of this project. I simply alter my expectations according to the evidence and keep checking for updates. I laughed when I saw the last-minute delay; I don't hate H-bomb for it. I assume that this is part of his nature.
Even so, I do think that the reactions here are becoming hateful and abusive. The status of "players" is only a small fraction of the reason. The fact of the matter is that very few of you would actually say the things you're saying to someone's face in person.
In other words, the internet makes people very mouthy and very "brave," because there are no consequences and you don't have to treat anyone with dignity.
It's a shame, because it discourages people from thinking before writing angry words--and as clever as some of the little quips here are, it is evident that there is very little thought.
yeah, the more time i spend on the internet the more disappointed and detached from the human race i become. because the way people act here is exactly how they would act in RL if their were no consequences for their behavior. in a sense we are looking through a magic mirror showing us the true inner personalities of the people we walk past, converse, and even spend time with every day. its sad in the greater majority of people are just a bunch of rude, ungrateful, douchers who would kill you in a second to get a small bit of pleasure in their lives...

He's unreliable with his updates - so we complain about it. There's no 'imouthiness' or 'rudeness' here. It's just a bunch of grumpy porn-gamers bitching about an unreliable porn game producer. It's natural.
As I've said in another thread, quit complaining about the complainers. We only get like this when we hear unpleasant news. We're understandably griping about it - but no one's attacking anyone's character. Once he updates you won't hear a negative peep from us. If you go onto any other porn game maker's site you'll see a whole lot worse than what this bunch does. We like the game. We want more of it. We get a little impatient, but we're not being out of line.

ReplyDeleteThat said, don't delay the update. Even if it's rough, it will be the first actual game update in weeks. Remember, you're still in alpha. Polishing and setup for beta shouldn't be a priority until all the core material is in place.

ReplyDeleteIt's obvious BS isn't the game he wants to make anymore, that was obvious when he was talking about stopping working on BS and doing something else. This is the only game concept he's going to have that he'd be able to monetize but either he's too lazy or uninspired to continue doing it.
ReplyDeleteHe said two months ago that he could work full time on the game but losing a weekend pushes the deadline he never meets back to the next weekend. Either he lied and only has time to work on weekends or he puts off everything until he's nearing the end of his deadlines (aka the end of the weekend).
I wouldn't be surprised if he's put more effort into thinking of how to extract money from people wanting a porn game than actually making the fucking thing...
Why not give this to someone capable of working on it and not be lazy about it?

I'm honestly tired of all this and was rather sad to hear that some mobs won't even get animations.
I mean, come the fuck on, almost all animations have them in static frozen face besides the breeder, how fucking hard is it to make a mouth move or even make the eyes widen a little bit, jesus fuck.
He/She could give it to Gorepeat, so we can have an awesome 1/4 game made and dropped. Or maybe to the LoK 2.0 makers, who have delayed by years now? Or maybe one of those people that have blogs, then vanish and never say anything after quitting. Hartista has been putting things off, but he/she has the guts to tell us that its being delayed, which is more than most do.

Anyway, moving on.
Anon about facial animations; animating isn't easy, it's more than just a few extra frames... H-Bomb has multiple different face types for each creature (excluding the horse and wolf) and so each 'item' would need a connecting animation to that preset. You're asking H-Bomb to animate all the face types, not just the species. However I do agree in that the expressions can be a little off putting at times. Except the Neotany Cat-girl which just looks like a cheeky lil slut.
I personally would like to explore more of the story with the Elf's and the Hunter, and see some animations with them involved (not the elf-slaves, the siblings that break into the house on day 3) and see some more on the Guild and maybe a better sorting system for the creature's.
Other Things;
- Better vagina and sex animations, especially for the elf[f]/wolf pairing.
- H-bomb could save time by not making the 'pull out' animations just yet, you could just have the creampie animation and have the pull out function a alternate option for a 0% preg chance while the internal cum shot would have a 10 - 30% chance depending on fertility.
...Nope too tired to think of anything else right now...
He, the work you doing is fantastic 1. GOD DAMN ITS HOT 2. After I wrapped up my biznatch I played through the game anyway! Its great ... I cant wait to see more of the animations like all the neto... finally got a cat girl, neo, fertile 4,with futa. then tried to get a neto futa elf .... got it but yeah just the title lol. I think if I had to pick 1 animation I want to see the most is the demon on catgirl neo or neo futa on neo lol. But I know that is much down the road. the story line with the brother sister couple elves will be a coll little diddy so will the second intruder. All in all thanks this game has given me some good laughs among other thing. One other thing when I was looking at my cat girl kennel I couldnt help but think if there was a way to put a hidden thing in where IF the room was occupied buy all futa but 1 girls then the rest would jump her and you might have a chance to walk in on a gangbang kinda thing.... I understand modeling and know that would take allot I am just saying that would be cool just think of it a whole room of dark futa cat girls and 1 albino cat girl lol the chair would get messy fast

DeleteA great Idea for a reward for finishing of the dept would be that the queen comes by to thank the player for her donations, because it turns out that the women tricked the player in an attempt to take the player down before they even have a chance to start the breeding farm. The queen then reluctantly offers the player the opportunity to take on the form of a female monster of their choice while being allowed to maintain their status in society as a human. The player can also chose between notoriety (If that is what the perk was called) or normal form. If you don't like that as a reword than you should put it in anyways like the elf king gives the ability to you as a give to copy the form of one of your female monsters perks and all when ever and as many times as you want and you can revert to your normal form when you choose and back to your most recent copy form allowing the player to evolve for breeding and making it more entertaining for the player when it comes to their persona in the game.
ReplyDeleteI am just frustrated because this game could be so great but honestly to realize the full potential of this concept The creator needs help and funding there is no real way around it. If he would gather a few like minded talented people to help him make this game everything would go so much better. As it stands though this game will likely never be finished and fall far short of the quality mark that most would find acceptable. And that's wasted potential right there.

I don't even play the game for the porn anymore. I just think it's a fucking good game, and it'd be nice if I wasn't checking back every now and then to see nothing done. Even if you just updated ONE THING, and said that was the weeks update I'd be fine.
Please dude, don't give up on this. Think of your fans too dude.

ReplyDeleteYou don't have to go for amazing milestones and a pile of new features on every update. Adding one new thing and/or polishing one old thing say...once a week(?) would be amazing. Spend an hour or two doing just one or two things that needed to be done per week and decide from there if you can/want to spend more time to do more things. I know you said the animations take forever, so don't try to do 10 new ones all at once. Just focus on one at a time. Once you have one new one done, release it and move on to the next item on the list.
ReplyDeleteIf you try to do too much for every "milestone" then it becomes a daunting task and you get so overwhelmed that you lose motivation. Just chip away at it and do it in small pieces and after 3 months, if you did weekly updates, you'll have 18-25 bullet-points worth of changes done and it makes your "to-do" list 18-25 bullet-points shorter, making what remains a smaller, less daunting task and keeps the motivation from falling quite as fast.
Seriously. Just release a build every time you fix/add/change something, and don't set a schedule until you feel like you can actually do so. If you want people to pay you money for doing this, you're going to have to show consistency and repeatable effort. Can't really do much about the surprise family obligations though, but if there are frequent updates and then you come along and say "it's going to be at least a week before another update," then everyone will likely not get upset about that, because we all know real life comes first--well, the mature people realize that real life comes first, anyway.
I like the concept of the game as a whole though. Pretty nifty. Having most of the animation possibilities would be great though, since it is, afterall, a sex game, but I know those are the most difficult and time-consuming part. You really should see if somebody who is good at animation would help you out with those. I know you said there could technically be 200+ combinations for the animations, and that's a huge task if you're looking to do it yourself. Divide and conquer.
Anyway, looking forward to the next update.
So when you said Sunday do you mean this Sunday or like a month from now because all your deadlines end up being pushed back a couple of weeks. You should really get some other people on this project who could speed up the process and can also set better time frames than you have
