Extremely sorry for being absent and not updating you all for the past few weeks, as well for completely failing to keep up with the deadlines I've set. A lot has been going on in my life. I've recently found out that I am being laid off in about a month or so, and have been scrambling to make arrangements regarding this. Where I live happens to have pretty good unemployment support, so there's a distinct possibility that I may be taking this opportunity to work full-time on my various game development projects, at least for a little while.
I won't set any further deadlines until I know what my situation is going to be for sure. I really appreciate all of your patience, and again I sincerely apologize.
Regarding the blogger policy changes, I'm not worried about them. Worst case scenario I will just host my own website.
We're just glad you're back, man. Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteThat was the only thing I needed to read ^^
ReplyDeleteBut next time don't be afraid to share your situation with your fans; a lot of us are in your same situation, so we're all in the same boat here :P
good to see your back, i dont think the problem is the deadlines. just communication
ReplyDeleteakk we need is 5mins from you to let us know whats up and i think people will be happy.
even a one liner will do.
Very much the above.
DeleteGlad you haven't dropped out completely and as someone who is having trouble getting employed myself I hope you can find yourself a job.
I second that. It doesn't need to be a big paragraph explaining every detail either if you're short on time, just updating on the situation is enough.
DeleteI'm glad you haven't abandoned it <3
ReplyDeleteHope your situation will clear up. Good to hear from you =)
ReplyDeleteThank you, we just wanted to know whats happening. We were worried with the lack of communication.
ReplyDeleteHooray he didn't just drop off the face of the Earth...not to be that guy but any clue whatsoever as to when the update might actually be ready?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're fine!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you're not in trouble, or not ill, but I'm not quite happen about your job situation. You have my sympathies and I hope things work out for you.
ReplyDeleteWill you be looking for development work? I think if knew what part of the country you were in (northeast, northwest, southwest, etc...) and could message you privately, you have a lot of people here who would gladly let you know of opportunities in the region.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that though, and rooting for you.
Thank you for this update, its good to know that nothign is wrong with your health, thats the most important part. its good to hear, that in worst case with the blog you will host your own page.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the progress you make
Have Fun while doing so ;)
Still checking your emails hartista?
ReplyDeletei understand. there's a surprising amount of work that goes into unemployment.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Hartista!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you at least aren't in mortal peril. I spent almost the whole of last year unemployed and as shitty as not having a job was, im now grateful for the time I had to myself. I hope your 'occupational hiatus' works out for you. -Vect.
What can we say? Shit happens. Sorry to hear about the employment, but keep your chin up, it's only temporary. Other than that, just glad to hear that you aren't dead in a ditch somewhere, laid up in the hospital, or being probed by aliens XD
ReplyDeleteyahhh!
ReplyDeleteAwesome to see you back, though bad luck with the work front.
Now where are all those anons who claimed you ran away.....?
They're not the only ones waiting with dick in hand.
ReplyDeleteAmen. Update when?
Deletehappy u alive (:
ReplyDeleteJust glad to hear about how you're doing.
ReplyDeletepene
ReplyDeleteWell that sucks. Thanks for the update thought. I'm sure it'll put some minds at ease.
ReplyDeleteWell best of luck in the job search I hope its not as barren as it is were I am and please do keep us appraised of when you expect to be able to work on the project again I know that there are a lot of....'spirited' fans who are eager to see the next update.
ReplyDeleteSo any chance of that update coming out any time soon?
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know what's up. Best of luck with the job search, dude!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing to do is assume he hasn't touched flash since he released that last small update. If he is stressing about job security (don't forget he still works for a month) he won't really feel like working on flash.
ReplyDeleteSo I will wait until he says he is working on the project or has a job before I start thinking about updates.
That's some pretty bad news. I hope it all works out for the better for you. Glad to see you didn't abandon this hobby of yours.
ReplyDeleteIf anything, if you continued to make this game, and make it well, you could make some serious money off the game. It's a very unique game play. It's like a breeding sim, but naughtier. XD If it wasn't so X rated it would be fun for a lot more people. However, even I like to have a small hint of naughty in my gaming.
ReplyDeleteGlad you still with us! Random 5 minute posts lets us know you haven't died. ;)
Sea.
I can see you're still struggling and best of luck with your problems.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck, HBomb! Go ahead and get your name out there for the jobs you'd be least miserable (if not outright happy) with. Then, collect that check and work on the stuff that makes you happy. Spend at least an hour a day on this game, and more when the inspiration sweeps you up. If you give that much effort with a blurb on here with what's happening with the development, people will feel more involved and you'll see more support (financial or otherwise).
ReplyDeleteIf its ok to ask, hows progress looking?
ReplyDeletecuando es la proxima actualizacion?
ReplyDeleteYou should open source the game. That way someone can keep it going, the people that donated don't feel robbed (even though it was a donation), and your great idea can continue to be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteYou've been doing a pretty great job, all things considered. I just made a decent-sized donation because you deserve it.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if the planned update this Sunday the 14th (7/14). If not, oh well, I have patience I will wait.
ReplyDeleteAny news regarding updates?
ReplyDeleteHe has said he will notify us about any updates when he knows his situation. No new post means he doesn't know about his situation. He can't very well create the game when he is homeless.
ReplyDeletenot quite he said he will notify us when the next deadline will be the current dead line on the 14th is still up in the air on weather or not it will be the next update. im fine waiting a week or so just hope he doesn't drop the game.
DeleteHell, work for TEN minutes on the game every day... But, just give a quick shout about what is going on here every day or three. You have a money maker on your hands, if you'll just dedicate yourself to increase the communication this small amount. I'm pretty sure that you enjoy this type of work, and that could make for some excellent creations. People appreciate that, as I'm sure you've witnessed to a certain degree. Increase communication and dedicate yourself to put SOME time every day towards this project and you will eventually be free of that nasty ball and chain called employment.
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with you and yours! Best of luck!
Yes please.
DeleteAnd from what I understand Harista is Australian isn't he (at least he's on the Australian blogspot)? He'll be able to get plenty of money from unemployment.
As far as I know, an ".ar" dominion is Argentinian. The Australian suffix is ".au"
DeleteI'm pretty sure he isn't Australian as someone else asked him and he said no.
DeleteBesides unemployment is not that much as everything is expensive in Australia and centrelink expects you to apply to around 12 jobs a week or so and go to any job interview even if you don't want that job.
By the time you take rent, food and utilities out of the payment you have nothing left. Not really a great thing.
>As far as I know, an ".ar" dominion is Argentinian. The Australian suffix is ".au"
DeleteThe blogspot I was linked is .au
>The blogspot I was linked is .au
DeleteThen you must be Australian as I'm Argentinian, and this site adds the suffix from wherever you are. I feel dumb, not noticing that :(
idd quit work, work on this ask for donations - like fenoxo does with CoC, he seems to make a riddiculous amount
ReplyDeleteThis.
DeleteIt's like he doesn't even want my money.
Compare how many people play and visit the CoC forum/site to how many visit here. Now look at the donation voting and think.
ReplyDeleteIs that enough to live on? Hell no. Besides fenoxo has been around longer, has a much larger target audience and has a much larger game.
Hartista is just starting out really. He can't live on that kind of money, no one can.
Well, you're taking what currently is instead of what easily could be (and has been shown to become). Fenoxo started out with even less donations, and with a far simpler game. Fenoxo did it right with daily updates and basically selling his work on the game for something like 10 bucks an hour (a bit more if it was stuff he didn't particularly enjoy). A humble, but decent wage for doing something you enjoy. It would be silly to expect H- to live on nothing but current donations, but he's actually collecting assistance while looking for work. What was originally suggested was that he look for work, collect his check, and THEN work on what he loves to do. A very reasonable suggestion that may also help to fight off any of the blues, worries, low self-esteem or other psychological complications of being between jobs.
DeleteRemember, Grasshoppers, that a delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is forever.
ReplyDeleteMay the shwarts be with you all.
Because Duke Nukem forever was so good. I don't get how people can stand around assuming that anything is actually happening. I knew something was up when he was constantly pushing deadlines back.
DeleteHis first problem is Harista sets deadlines and has made promises that he hasn't delivered on. I won't blame him for shit happening in his life that pushes the development of a porn game out of your priorities, but when you're simply pushing each deadline you make back, you should either give yourself longer deadlines so you'll have less unmet deadlines.
His second is that he has made a donation system which, while it encouraged more people to donate and to donate more, he has proven for months that he hasn't been able to bring the features donators have voted for. I'm glad he finally stopped accepting donations, but it was much later than it should have because he now has at least a thousand dollars of unfulfilled promises hanging over his head.
At the moment, so long as Harista is at the helm of this turtle, I will have to assume this game isn't going to go anywhere.
Totally with you except for one example: DNF wasn't delayed, it was cancelled; then Gearbox scraped it off the sidewalk, wiped some dust off, and tossed it in a box.
DeleteWhat do you propose people do other than stand around? Should we start a riot?
ReplyDeleteWell now that you mention it... That does sound like fun.
DeleteHarista, get your shit together or we will unite ourselves against you. x'D
DeleteReally waiting the lolli cat girls and a "I wish" by infected mushroom as a soundtrack to the game.
Harista! We are waiting you! Be strong, man, return to us!
