Alpha Build 6.5 for Patrons

Sorry for the long delay in getting these patch notes up. If you've been checking in the Creations section on Patreon you'll have seen that 6.5 has been available to patrons for the last couple of days.

This ended up being a pretty huge/ambitious update, and though not nearly all of the new monsters and monster variants we've been working on are ready yet, they should all be ready within one or two more updates. Swine narrowly missed this update, and most of the new monsters are not fully implemented game mechanics-wise or event-wise yet, but I'm still pretty dang impressed with how much we managed to cram into this update (Fleet, S-Purple, and Vanilly have been working their asses off to make this happen), and I hope to have all the bugs picked out and everything in a good state of polish by the end of the month. This update you get Seraphs, Mandrakes, Fluffdragons, Catguys, Titwolves, Tauruses, and reworked Dickwolves, Catgirls, and Holstauruses. I really think these new monsters/idles are some of S and Vanilly's best work yet.

Unfortunately there are no new sex animations this update and due to reworks a few existing animations may be bugged or have been removed in order to be updated and added back in. Don't worry, though: once our current push to finish monster variants and finalize all of the existing monsters is complete the art team will be able to focus heavily on pumping out sex animations.

6.5 Patch Notes

Additions
- New Patron-requested monster types have been added! Currently their individual mechanics/consumables and associated quests are not yet implemented.
- Seraphs are updated and available in-game, and can be obtained by buying a Seraph Cage building upgrade for the Harpy Aviary (currently doesn't require completing Marchioness quest for testing purposes)
- Mandrakes are available in-game, and can be obtained by purchasing a Mandrake Hydroponicum from Levi
- Fluffdragons can be obtained by using the debug code "addmontype.Fluffdragon" (no quotes), after which they will be purchasable in the store following a restock and will share the Dickwolf pens
- New trait: Genderbent, monsters born with the Genderbent trait have a rare gender for their species
- New Genderbent monsters, with idles: Catguys (Genderbent Catgirls), Titwolves (Genderbent Dickwolves), and Tauruses (Genderbent Holstauruses), with more to come later
- Big art updates on existing monsters: Dickwolves have received a huge overhaul, Holstauruses and Catgirls have been given more minor visual updates/cleaned up
- Additions have been made to the fishing system in order to introduce a bit more challenge (UI is placeholder)
- New coloration system with significantly improved quality for the various monster color palettes (not all monsters and animations have been updated for this new system and so there may be inconsistencies)
- Player stats now have more gameplay effects: Breeder's STA increases the amount of energy he/she generates each day, in the future other stats will also be given such effects

Bug Fixes / Balance
- Fixed a bug where you could make consumables with over level 10 quality through alchemy
- Fixed the bug that would break the item menu when you had an over level 10 quality item
- Fixed issues with the feeding trough in the elf pens

Known Issues
- Monster descriptions, consumable effects, and game mechanics are unfinished/unimplemented on a number of new monsters
- Some animations have been disabled or are glitchy due to the new overhauls
- Due to the on-going overhaul of the color system, colors are incorrect in a number of pens and animations
- There's been a slight increase in lag from the new color/animation system, which will be getting an optimization pass soon

I plan on updating the public release tonight as well.

Oh, and lastly: you guys may remember a long time ago that Jake Kaufman (composer for Shovel Knight, Shantae, and Mighty Switch Force, among others) agreed to produce some music for the game. I just heard back from him recently and that's still a go! We're in the process of getting fit into his busy schedule right now, but if all goes well we can look forward to Breeding Season having a fucking rad soundtrack!

  5. Um excuse me for being noob here, but what is the advantage or even point of having the Male/Female breeder? I noticed that the breeder has higher stats to mate with monsters early game,but thats about it and since breeder cant get traits to pass on to offsprings. Not sure if im not far into the game yet to get my breeder traits or anything and/or Im missing something. pls enlighten this pleb >.<

    1. The male breeder was requested by the fans and both genders have different events. I'm not sure if the breeder traits Human adaptability and intelligence will come back or not.

    2. Breeder traits? They were removed in 5.4 version so they no longer exist.
      Advantage for Male/Female breeder? I pick male breeder if i want to breed more female monsters and female breeder if male monsters.

    4. Agreed the Breed need to at least be edit able through codes or to give them traits. Such as traits that allow their stat levels to increase, the feed rate. Or the ability to gain traits from monsters but only limit to a few traits. Also Both Breeders deserve a breeding nerf to make the female breeder have to wait 3 days to give birth and monsters that the male breeder knocks up can't give birth automatically.





      also can we get some female breeder animations or some news when they'll be worked on ? I would like to point out that the male breed has breed animations for Catgirl, Holstaurus, and Female Elf breeding animations and the female only has Alpha dickwolf, dickwolf foursome thats it

    5. Well, hopefully if they're smart the BS dev(s) will add capabilities for the breeder to add/remove traits to themselves in-game and in-lore via the Alchemy system. I could basically see the idea of the breeder harvesting various materials from monsters with desired traits to create a sort of 'trait potion', similar in some respects to the potions you could create with alchemy in The Sims 3 that turned your sims in witches, werewolves, zombies, etc.

      It's something I'd like to see them do, not just because I'd like to be able to add traits to the breeder, but also because it would add more gameplay and content to the game.

      That and it wouldn't seem particularly in-lore for the breeder to be re-born the same way the monster races are (the inter-dimensional shenanigans and such), so potions seem like the logical choice. Though, I suppose it would be pretty interesting if you could also have your breeder find a way to change their race entirely and become one of the other species or something along those lines. Maybe even an option to choose your race at the start altogether, if for nothing else to be able to have your breeder be an Elf instead of a Human, etc.

I like that but make it tricky to get the alchemy ingredients to make "trait potions" but it would be cool to have a limit not to make the game to easy suchs as three traits and each time you add a new one you have to trade off one of your other traits. and make it so in order for the certain traits to stack you have to continue using alchemy to increase the traits

  6. I'm having an issue with the game about halfway through the first month. I'll sleep and the day will change, stored hearts on all my critters ect. however sleeping doesn't restore my energy. this occured right after i started the quest to build the alchemy tower, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

    1. I also ran into this glitch sadly the only thing I could do was make energy drinks or start a new game and I got it from the fishing area.

    1. I don't import the saves as I joined yesterday but I do not have any problrems with Mandrakes. For me, they just seem to be rare.

  13. I think I broke the system, because I have two monsters that take -9 (and growing) energy to breed, and give me energy back per attempt. One of them has C class 47 dexterity with Greased Lightning 2, and the other has F class 20 dexterity.

    They have a lot of other traits that aren't speed-based, so if its relevant I can post them, or other info.

  15. Not only no new animations, but no old animations too. No old traits. Wrong colors. The male tauruses are even two colors, like purple and blue and purple and orange. Catgirls are all the same - black, white and pink hair. No bigger space for monsters again. Mandrakes? What's that? No building for them and no mandrakes when you breed. When you include the fluff dragons, there are mostly them in the store and 0-2 of each other monsters. Seriously?
    I'm not usually the guy that is mad about everything you do, but this makes me regret paying. I'm really disappointed. Hope the next release will be better, because this one is really raw. Sorry.

The idles and the entirely new variants are the new animations, the old traits are there, the colors are there and bugs are foreseen because its still an alpha and tiny misslip in code causes a mess, catgirls had their parts polished.There's pen expansion and modification for increasing monster capacity on your ranch, Mandrakes are in the Mandrake pen you can purchase from Levi. The Fluffdragon is a rare variant you're not originally supposed to get through the monster shop, the results which monsters show up in the show are random.

    2. Just to point out, the Mandrake pen is not visible when the map is centered. You have to scroll to to the right to find the pen. So, that may be why you think they didn't appear when you bought them. They are using some of the extra space to the sides for some of the new monster types.

      Speaking of which, Purple, are you planning to design separate pens for Fluffdragons and Seraphs down the road or will they always be housed with other monsters? I'd personally prefer to not have to have shared pens like that, as it means I can have less Harpies and Dickwolves than other kinds of monsters.

  17. Does anyone know whether Greased Lightning gets a rebalancing later on, in another version? Currently running the public 6.2 release, and the thing is still both incredibly overpowered and detrimental to progress, at the same time, being nonsensical due to GL5 and 99 Dex leading to -345% energy costs. While that may sound pretty rad, having multiple monsters with the trait makes it... well, about 1100% the costs of it, due to a -345%*-345% stacking. While, of course, I adapted to this by keeping some monsters with an All Night Long 5 WITHOUT Greased Lightning 5, it can still be quite the pain to deal with.

    Commenting on this post, because the original build 6.2 for Patrons post seems rather antiquated by now, and I feel I'm more likely to get answers on this post.

    If you apply the pairing on the player's character potion Holstaurus (Holstaurus Milk), then the transition to a new day, the player's health is no longer to recover, does not recover well and heart indicating the number of how many times a player can mate with clients.

  20. Am I just extremely unlucky or is it not possible to breed Fluffdragons? I breed them with a Dickwolf and only get Dickwolfs in return...

    1. It's seeming like fluffdragons are currently all but entirely coded as female dickwolves. Harvesting them gives "fluffdragon jizz", which does all the same things as dickwolf jizz, they use up dickwolf slots, and even when bred with a male player, give birth to dickwolves. Meaning that whenever you get a request for one, you HAVE to buy one from the shop to sell.

    2. Most likely will be updated to 6.4/5, but public releases come like a month or two late, apparently. Otherwise, every big update comes with a new public release as well, but not entirely sure.

  24. Hiya,

    Just a small question - and no, don't worry, it isn't about updates or animations or the like - about what I would have to do if I wrote something for the game. It wouldn't be anything I would get paid for, and overall it is essentially fanfiction, so usually all you would do is slap on a disclaimer and that'd be that. However, I am posting this to ask permission to do so, as I don't think it states anywhere what you can or can't do.

    It'd just be something that is written for fun, with no certainty of being completed at all, and there wouldn't be any sort of income coming from it.

    Anyway, I hope to hear off you soon, and keep working hard on the game: I'm expecting some good M/F + M/M + F/F animations in the updates :D

  31. Why is it that you guys keep adding more without finishing the things you have? I mean its great in all but there are several things that should have been at least addressed first. Like a tutorial, finished animations, the use of that one girl with the dildos who still has no role even after 8 new releases, improved story line, and an explanation on how to get certain monsters, such as the dragonfluffs ( I still have zero idea ), the importance of the npc affection system and the feral monster option that has not been explained. It's an amazing game and I love to play it, the artwork is great and the animations is incredible. But it starting to feels repetitive when you expect things to make sense only to add another layer of confusion. Is it alright if there can there at least be an explanation on the blog on how things are done? That would be most appreciated.
