Alpha Build 5.2 for Patrons, 5.0.1 Public Release, and Schoolgirls Love Tentacles!

This update happens to contain a couple of very special guest characters; Aitako and Wiggles from Schoolgirls Love Tentacles! Delicious Orange contacted me a looong time ago looking to see if we were interested in having them as a cameo, and of course we accepted. He even whipped up the script for the events (and the super awesome sex scene). If you're unfamiliar, SLT is a rather risque crowd-funded card game centered around the loving relationships between schoolgirls and their affectionate tentacle monster partners. Of course, along with Aitako showing up in Breeding Season, there's a good chance you guys will be getting to see Roxie show up in SLT in the future!

Anyway, since you guys have been waiting long enough, here are the 5.2 patch notes:

Additions
- Aitako and Wiggles from SLT make a special appearance in a couple of new beach-based events, including a rather huge sex scene! And yes, we do plan on giving the scene some art and animations in the future.
- A handful of new small events that take place at the beach, including a new one with Kay
- Demon x Holstaurus Animation, with a close-up scene!
- Stallion x Holstaurus Animation
- A couple of neat new special event consumables; absolutely cannot guarantee that they're not crazy imbalanced, but hopefuly they're at least interesting
- Updated dialog portraits including Margo, Roxie, the Marquis, and the Marchioness

Bug Fixes

- You can click through the victory screen, in order to continue playing right away after you beat the game(the song keeps playing, but you can mute it)
- Fixed holstaurus/futaurus animation color/variation issues
- Cleaned up the female elf x stallion and female elf x demon animations a little
- The game should no longer be haunted by phantom nipples when you have a newborn futaurus
- There should be less invisible junk blocking you from clicking monster silhouettes in the pens
- Outlines now work correctly in the Holstaurus/Stallion pens
- Breed/harvest count and feed count should be able to display larger numbers now

I'll also have 5.0.1 up for the public in the next 20 minutes here.

  3. I'm using an older save transferred over, none of the updates seem to be in effect. No new cowgirl+stallion/demon animations, nothing going on at the beach. I mean- it's obvious that it's the old save causing this, though it's a shame to have to give up all my progress and prize monsters again.

    1. Yeah, if you use an old save you'll get none of the new stuff, unfortunately.

      Once the stat overhaul is done my next priority is the save system (then the UI).

  11. Can anyone help me? I am playing the public version but sometimes when a dialogue pops up it freezes and I cant click on anything anymore. Have to restart the game. But e.g. I can mark the dialogue text and copy + paste it to editor. So game is not dead but seems to be in an endless loop. Any suggestions?

    1. This is a serious bug that has been plaguing me for a while. I'm going to hunker down and see if I can root it out for the 31st.

    2. Another annoying bug that comes up is with the trait Human Intellect. In addition to obtaining new traits if the other monster has a lower level skill ("say fertile 1") while the breeding monster has a higher skill ("fertile 10"), then if human intellect procs, the monster will still display fertile 10 but have the effect of fertile 1. This may even lower a monsters Human intellect to level 1 despite displaying level 10 if they bred with one with human int 1. (Note offsprings aren't affected by this mislabel until after they start breeding and have human intellect).

      P.S The game is really enjoyable, just nitpicking on smaller details. This is for the 5.0.1 pub release btw.

    1. Hm, it's working for me. It's a .rar file so you need to use Winrar or 7zip or a similar program to extract it, in case that's the issue. If that's not the problem you may want to try redownloading the file: I think mediafire has problems with incomplete downloads sometimes.

  15. Elf futas seem to be stuck with the same face and bright hair colors. I haven't been able to generate one with darker hair colors (i.e. black or dark red) or a different face through breeding or random shop generation. I suspect a similar pattern may affect futa catgirls in a different manner as well. Perhaps this might be a bug? Tested in v4.9-v5.0.1.

      I figured some stuff out kinda.

      Aitako and Wiggles are there by default, and you find them by chance, as with the treasure chest.

      I maxed out the pink pearl, and then after about six or seven returns I saw the sex scene, and I'm thinking there's a correlation there.

      Then I sold the maxed out pearl to Kay, and the next day, she's there.

      I think that's how it works.

    2. That's not how it works. Just seems you had terrible luck. I got all the events by just going to the beach and back to the farm. Took nearly 15 days of going back and forth to get them all.

    3. Actually six or seven returns is a lot less than what I did. Seems you actually had more luck than me. Regardless of that though, the events are random and only the sex scene is dependant on a different event. (The one where you meet the two.)

  18. Have you considered a stat search for the shop? Like if I want only monsters with positive charisma and will, I just select those fields and it'll filter?

    1. are you playing the public version or the patreon version? the new animations listed in the patch notes only work on the 5.2 update on patreon. 5.0.1 patch notes can be found in an earlier post on the blog. the next male x male animation will probably be dickwolf x elf male.     3. well, the patreon version is reserved for those who donate a dollar to the breeding season team via their page on patreon.com. however, many of us donate more than a dollar because of the various rewards for donating. Hope that helps answer your question.

  20. im having an issue were my saves aren't staying saved if I don't play and resave every few days (real time, not ingame). not deleting cookies either. is anyone else having this problem? is there a solution? I don't think its a bug just maybe theres another way to save it?

  21. not to be "that guy" but I feel like the updates are missing the basic stuff like updated harvesting animations and a lot of dickwolf/catgirl scenes. I just figure maybe it would make sense to progress the updates starting with the monsters you first get and continue forward from there. I don't know, just an observation.

Events added involve finding treasure on the beach, Kay collecting mermaid flotsam which she gives you, Meeting Aitako and Wiggles (special reusable pink pearl item), and a sex scene between the 2. The only special condition to any of these events I can see is having met the characters for non-meeting events. Going to the beach requires an hour of your time for no gaurentee, but flotsam is strong and sells well, and an early pearl is game changing.

    So if anyone was wondering whether or not the alunrae will suck on the pearl and give it back, the answer is no. :( which kinda sucks really.

    I like these changes, the 2 new animations were pretty enjoyable, haven't side by side compared the cleaned up animations though. I feel like the new animations are still fairly slow for rough animal sex, and that should be a priority in some way.

    1. I totally agree that anthro x anthro or anthro x female breeder animations are slower than feral/old ones.

      Also I see that Stallion x Holstaurus animation is very slow compared to other animation or just fps drops hard during it because when I lower quality it gets faster instantly. Maybe Stallion mode size is to big?

      I hope that in next updates/soon they will maybe add creampie/cumshot endings for current animations. I would love to see Dickwould going faster (like in the feral harvest animation) and then filling female Breeder or female Elf with his giant load that starts to gush from her pussy or Stallion doing the same with Holstaurus

      I wonder also if there will be penetration scenes for female Elf x Demon and female Elf x Stallion. Grinding looks nice specially for Demon x female Elf but how the hell she gets impregnate if they don't penetrate her pussy :P?

    3. so I need NASA PC for Breeding Season -_- ? I have currently 4 GB RAM memory + dual core 3.00 GHz + GeForce GTX 650+ I'm using Windows 7... and I'm still have small/medium fps problems when it comes to animations with creatures that have new models specially stallions (except dickwolf x catgirl and dickwolf x breeder that looks quite good/fine/normal/fast enough) while feral models works perfectly.

      I remember that one of the recent MLP Mittsies flash games/animations had very similar problem (tons of layers used on animations frames or smth else) but then he released alternative optimized version that wasn't lagging for everyone

    6. Still a Flash-Game with simple animations shouldn't eat up nearly that much memory. I ran a similar machine as the one Anon described (actually a bit worse, but also with win 7 and 4GB RAM) until not too long ago and it can properly run titles like World of Tanks, Far Cry 2 and even the resource-hungry Shogun 2.

      To be sure I made quick check, finding that BS seems to eat up roughly 100-140 MB of memory. I did just a quick check with the animations I had at hand through saves right now, though the difference was minimal all the time.

      Long story short: The problem probably lies elsewhere, if I had to guess I'd say background processes you aren't aware of (or underestimate their hunger) or a resource-hungry Security Suite (it's ALWAYS one of those two...).

      Apart from that you can be pretty sure BS isnt anywhere near an optimized performance. At least that's what I can tell from what I see in the game and what I know about Software development (I work as a Software Engineer). Seeing that the whole thing supposedly started off as a learning project doesn't exactly help, either.
      Still that shouldnt be much of an issue for anyone at this scope of the game and there are far more important things to do than performance optimization (which is a quite tedious and time-consuming task, i can ssure you).

    7. optimized performance flash done partially by Mittsies? LOL that made my laugh hard. The moment I heard that he joins BS team I knew that sooner or later this flash game will start to slow down during few animation on non ultra pro machines (and I'm not even talking about old wooden PC because it's obvious that lots of stuff lags on them)

      and just like previous anon said such simple flash-game shouldn't create so much problems with memory and fps drops. I hope that animators will sooner or later (better sooner) optimize it hard because when some animations are fast and smooth and other slow down and drops fps then you know something is wrong this this game. After all more and more people join the crew right? Someone should be able to know to fix this serious problem.

  25. Did you leave anything exploitable? Why yes, you did. Margo's event gives exponentially more money, as you pay more and more debts, so at some point I had Margo giving me millions. It didn't take many iterations to reach that - from 2k to 4k to 8k ... to 1 mil there is roughly 10 iterations. I did abuse the "keep playing anyway?" option; but I could have done it without it, just save my game and hope for the random Margo event to pop up. If it doesn't pop up and I lose the game - reload. Then repeat until I win.

    I know it's a bit too early, but a suggested fix is to make Margo's event more deterministic, for example once per 3-6 months. Yes, that involves keeping track of an extra variable in the DB, but would work. Margo's event is far too powerful anyway, having it completely random makes the game too strongly influenced by chance, and also abusable with save/load.

    1. The Alunrae event has been very beneficial in presenting a lot of the issues with the inventory system if you ask me. The pink pearl SHOULD be the nail in the coffin for fixing how inventory works.

    2. It makes it so they stat up faster from breeding events. Very necessary when your aiming for stat caps. Same use as catgirl squirt if you were wondering why you would use a feed option to add a feed option, All feeds give stat buffers. A well stated catgirl can make hitting stat cap a afternoon affair from a week process.

    3. I wouldn't say necessary for breeding fast; once your caps reach 1000 (reguardless of current level) monster tend to max after 2 or 3 breeds. The pearl is an overpowered item really as it is reusable, grows in strength and pretty much negates the need for any other consumable in terms of stat building. And since you don't want to sell it in general, it gets in the way of selling consumables (can't sell all safely). I'm assuming there only one shot at getting it.

      Truthfully, all consumables are not terribly powerful long term, you have to spend additional time just to 'prep' a monster with whatever effect you want and there is usually a trait that does the same thing anyway. Once you start breeding traits into your monsters, consumables are just a waste of time.

  30. Ok I have some additional information on the random event lockup issue. As mentioned above I can't enter it in the bug report section as it's not taking new posts so sorry but this will have to do.

    ver 5.2 on windows 7 pro !reproducible"

    I can now safely point to maxing out consumables, selling all at the shop, then saving, as a "solid" trigger to the lock up problem. I've verified it in both 5.1.1 and 5.2, and I have a maxed out save file copied to a store folder so I can recreate the problem at will. (Let me know if you want a copy of the file) I've played through without a single lockup twice (with out selling any consumables) but if I max out /sell all/ and save; I can walk into the guild and lock up at the menu screen repeatedly ... I don't have a clue as to the mechanics behind it... but at least I can avoid it, and recreate it at will... that's a start ;-)

    2. It may be a reason for lock ups, but that isn't true for mine. Usually nowhere near maxing consumables (as I don't tend to use them much). Although there is some issues with the max consumable carry: events that give you consumables ignore the cap entirely.

  32. I FINALLY FUCKING FIGURED OUT ON HOW TO NOT LOSE YOUR SAVE DATA!

    the save data is located in the folder where you saved the .swf with also the filename of the .swf

    lets say i saved in /swf/games/BreedingSeason5.0.swf (old saved data)
    now lets say i want to update my saved files to the save data from: "/swf/games/BreedingSeason5.2.swf" to "/swf/games/BreedingSeason5.0.swf"

    what you do is, you start "breedingseason5.2.swf", new game, spam "would you like to sleep", you just click and press (1) TILL you reach THE DAY WHERE YOU SAVED IN "BreedingSeason5.0.swf"

    lets say i saved in "BreedingSeason5.0.swf" on 5/21
    i have to spam "would you like to sleep" and (1) till i reach 5/21 IN BREEDINGSESAON5.2.swf

    NOW WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO is you make a backup folder, lets say "/swf/games/backup", you put "BreedingSeason5.0.swf"
    now you take "breedingseason5.2.swf" with all the days counted to 5/21, saved till that day, and you CHANGE THE NAME OF "breedingseason5.2.swf" to "breedingseason5.0.swf", and place it in "/swf/games/" not "/swf/games/backup"

    now press load
    FUCKING
    HOW?

    1. It works because you're effectively telling it to use the old .sol file, even though you're running the newer file.
      What you'll probably find, though, is that as a result, even thought you're running 5.2, and if you start a new game from that swf, it'll be a 5.2 game, if you load your old data into it then, by virtue of using the old .sol, you'll effectively be scaling back to the old version, for the duration of using that save file.

      So, yes, you'll have all your old save data.. but, at the same time, you -won't- have access to any of the new events or animations available in 5.2 only.... if you go back tot he main menu and start a new game, the 5.2 content will work fine, but if you load an old file, in this way, it won't be able to make use of the new things.

  33. Thoughts of 5.2 so far (critique, not necessarily bugs):

    - Needs a reason to go to these new locations, if you hadn't told us about the beach events; I probably wouldn't have known that there was anything there. The reasoning is the same as the time when new monster breeds would not show in the clients requests until you bought a pen; there was no NEED to get the other breeds, so it was easier to just concentrate on breeding an ultimate wolf/cat.


    - Lily task to earn GP is a waste of time; you rack up plenty of points just donating (once fertile is introduced, that number goes up drastically).

    - Store Stat boost still pointless, end result is monsters just get more expensive at the store and selling those to clients are hard pressed to make up for the cost.

    - Store Trait boost and Traits specific orders are not improving in a noticeable fashion.

    - Specific monster ordering is pointless; not enough breeds and the store restock button makes this useless.

    - Most consumable powers are limited in usefulness long term. The time lost to harvest and feed the monster nearly negates any benefit those powers would have had. There are traits that do the same thing at no cost for nearly all of them.

    - Time used to go from one pen to another doesn't serve any real purpose. It's not usually enough to change the end result in most cases.

    - Random events trigger too often, many one after another; getting in the way of the actual game play. Random and scripted events don't play well with each other either (monthly payments, child birth, etc).

    - Harvest All is only useful if there is enough time to harvest them all. If you have 10 potential harvests, but only time for 9, then we are stuck harvesting 9 times. Harvest All needs to change to Harvest Max.

    - Consumable limit is too low (my fault, I know). Should have considered the max potential a single monster could make and made it that instead. So max STA (11) + All Night Long (10) = 21 * Geyser 10 (11 each) = 231... so maybe 250 to 500 instead. Honestly, consumables are HUGE memory hogs for things that can only be used once. May want to consider simplifying them.

    I think those are the biggest (non bug) issues. You are making an interesting game, but you are letting a lot of stuff slide in favor for new features and that's going to bite you in the butt. When you implement the redone stat system, you REALLY need to concentrate on fixing the bugs before pushing forward; you are suffering from a severe case of feature creep.

    1. As usual, Iron makes very valid points, and I'd second most of them.

      Giving us some sort of vector to explore the new locations, and a recurring purpose for them beyond random potential events, is an important matter. I'd agree that the guild rep event loses its value very quickly. In the beginning, when you can't reliably gain offspring at a good rate, it serves as a useful alternative, but very swiftly it becomes better to simply focus on boosting your monster turn-over and gaining through donation.

      As he says, Improving the store seems also to be of exceptionally limited value; I know when I start playing, I usually seek to breed up HI to ten quickly, and then create a breeding trait-stockpile... the only reason that I go to the store is to acquire throw-away monsters to acquire missing traits from, and adding them to my Matron/Sire creatures.

      In the beginning, I use some consumables, when I prepping and raising creatures (most commonly, when trying for particular breeds, I'll jizz up the exact amount needed to get as many breeds as I have time for between the pair that I'm working, evenly, and milk and remaining feeds), but before very long, the use of any consumables at all becomes relatively inconsequential, having acquired the repeat breeding, fast action, fertility, extra feeding etc. traits.

      Time between pen movement, can be irksome, but here, I disagree, or at least, I understand why it's there. At ten minutes, it won't cut too much time off your day, and generally won't be the difference between whether you have the time for that last quick fuck before bed, or not... which is -good-, but, if you flick rapidly between pens, you'll swiftly use up your day, which is also intended... because of the way some of the random events trigger currently, that switch needed to be there to prevent even-spamming.

      It would be nice if it cost no time to move between pens, but that would necessitate a significant change to the mechanism that controls the spawning of random events around the farmyard. Perhaps that might be the best thing to do though? I don't pretend to know.

      Perhaps if random farmyard events triggered based on your clock (so, a set (quite low) chance to trigger, rolled once for every hour that passes? That way pen switching could go back to taking no time, at all, and thus would also not be a way of tricking the system to endlessly spawning events at you.

      I agree on the Harvest-Max issue... if it can be wrangled efficiently, that would be a very good thing to have, and would save a player having to click through 8 of 10 harvest one at a time.

      As I mentioned above... never really used a lot of consumables. I generally don't use many at all, personally, and as such I also don't harvest very often either, so, I've never encountered or had to think about any sort of consumable limit. Aside from that, I can't comment on the issue.

    2. I agree with Ironvein and Erika. Maybe it would be wise to limit the number of traits monsters can acquire to maybe a maximum of five - including the trait levels of every trait. I think this would result in much more consideration and tactical breeding. The point is to prevent monsters to become too potent while probably retaining the usefulness of consumables. I know these ideas are kinda roughcast... but maybe something to consider.

      Besides that I also fear that you are in imminent danger of drifting too far off from the roots of the game and risk drowning in complexity. Countless new (donator-bought) features dilute the core of the brand so to speak, while the very basics that made the original game shine are left behind somewhere along the road. This is kind of sad.

      There is much potential of course. There are some cool ideas and I enjoy S-Purple's art style. My advice would be: "Keep it simple". Although it might be a tad late for this... Take a minute to reflect on what originally made Breeding Season the project so many people liked and gladly supported. This was the way to go - and should be again.

    3. Well, my opinion is that the traits are fine overall; it's the consumables that need changing. The consumables currently are just mimicking trait powers for the most part plus the way they are designed is very memory inefficient to the point that it'll slow down the game (hence the limiting of how many consumables you can hold).

      Info one consumable contains:

      1) It's original breed type - 1
      2) additional traits gained from other breed types (Hearty, Healthy, etc) - (0 -5)
      3) mod modifers for each stat - 6

      at least 12 things to remember for a single consumable.... and then it all goes away after a single use. Kinda wasteful.

      I think it'd be better if the consumables were used for something else entirely, like crafting materials or something. They all that you'd need to know is what type it was and how many you have. Much more efficient plus giving a different use for the consumables altogether (something to use the lab for, I'm thinking). Just by using the story elements thus far, using consumables... to make didlos that 'inject' traits into monsters. A thought.

If we're talking about suggestions Hartista might actually implement, I would propose that since all the harvestables are liquid assets (pun intended) the units harvested could be converted into oz/ml amounts instead of individual items and a dose for feeding could be X oz/ml. If quality is to be kept on the table, have some maths in place so the quality is averaged out whenever you harvest more of that kind.

      In other words say your existing stock, 500 ml of Holstaurus Milk, has 2.5 star quality across the board and you then harvest a maxed quality Taur for 100 ml. You end up with 600 ml of milk (obviously) and something like 2.9 star average quality (the specific math escapes me atm). Rounding would probably need to occur to avoid miniscule differences. Maybe also have a "dump all" button in case there's a fractional dose you can't feed to something messing up your average,

      This could also allow strategic complexity while simplifying item storage, as feeding doses could then be a per-breed amount of oz/ml to reflect general monster sizes (small scale breeds like Harpies take a bit less, large scale ones like Demons a bit more, Neoteny monsters take a further/different bit less regardless of breed, etc).

  35. I played the 5.2 version and, wow. Still disappointing. How are you all able to circlejerk so much? I really, really envy that sort of... well... commitment I guess.

    Animation - still jerky, still buggy, still crude. The horrendous wolf x breeder breasts are still in. Even worse, you proudly - for a lack of better word - "advertise" <> when it's obvious he wouldn't knew good animation even if it bit him in the ass.

    Lot's of placeholders. It would seem the game is one big placeholder. What I mean, the game, even though is supposedly "developed" full time has barely any content. Almost nothing is even remotely completed. Somehow you have a bright idea of including wolf x wolf, while other - let's say, less niche (or outright lacking) combinations are still empty. FOR MONTHS. Then you have the glimpse of the game that was "before". Where "buttstalions" were horses not freaky dude-bro furries. Speaking of which - first scene of a buttstalion is a vaginal one on a holstaurus? What the ef?

    Time sinks, oh, so many time sinks! Grind, grind, grind. Basically, that's it, the game. Why make something one-clickable or a shortcut. when you can make six moves instead, thus inflating the time spent "playing". And by playing I mean making chores akin to Farmville - repetitive. pointless clicks. I like the idea of the game, the execution is disgraceful though.
    The UI is cluttered and convoluted. The game supports (and actually demands) that you have lots of monsters, but the UI in no way helps you with the management.

    So little content, so little improvement between the months and - one would think - a full fledged job. A job, you're getting paid 20 000 dollars a month.
    What exactly are you doing with this money? For this kind of budget you could actually EMPLOY an professional animator and get the shit done.

    All in all: 20k a month and this? I'm taking my money (even though it won't hurt you). All I have to say is this: for such a sum monthly and so little done it's borderline scam. You deliver almost nothing, while stuffing your pockets with cash.

      My biggest complain right now is when I browse s-tumblr site. He's a great artist and it shows. I'm a fan of pixel art. His design might be sometimes controversial, but you can't please everyone. And then I see his art in game.

      Shit tweening. Really crude animation. Awkward moving parts. Good art assets just absolutely wasted. I mean, if that's the quality they're aiming for, I REALLY don't understand how the fuck they aren't able to release ten badly animated poses. Because face it, there's not even ONE GOOD ANIMATION right now in the game. Not even one, that's fluid, complete and just... well... Good.

      Let that sink. You're paying the guy a shitton of money for a good few months and there's not even one technically good animation. If you're really into getting your ass fucked that much, I can do it for you; half the price.

    8. H-bomb is not getting 20K a month, not only is a percentage taken out by Patreon, but it is then split between what is soon to be 4 sources. A bit under 5K each a month is a fair bit, but it's not like they're doing Scrooge McDuck morning moneypool dives.

      And even if each team member WAS making 20K a month, THERE'S STILL ONLY SO MUCH A 4 MAN TEAM CAN DO. Even if they have incentive to do more, there is a very real cap in productivity after they start making Breeding Season a full-time gig. The jump from part-time to full-time was already a good jump in productivity, but after that you can't do a whole lot more for effort. You also have to realize that H-bomb moved back in, and had to take a bit of time out of programming to find the new team members that he promised to hire on, so that cut back a bit too. You can't reasonably expect anything amazing to get accomplished with all that happening.

      This game is still in early alpha, and we've had less than a year (maybe even less than 6 months) of updates, trying to fix a broken system with 3 people, only one of which was actually working on the programming aspect, and after that's fixed, it's been expressed that updates should be far easier to churn out, and have more in them. I'm not saying you can't voice your complaints, but really, cut the guys some damn slack now and again, this isn't the sort of thing that's going to be fixed up in 2 updates. Most of the animations people are complaining about are also PLACEHOLDERS and will MOST LIKELY BE REFINED AT A LATER DATE. That has been STATED. It's not like you're looking at the animations that will be in the final version here, changes will happen.

      Six months (I would like to add they are working on a WORKING PROTOTYPE of a game, they didn't need to make it anew) and you talk about "productivity" and "early alpha". Let's say there's an average of 21 working days in a month (because obviously weekends are free). Let's also say they're working six hours per day, because why not, if I had so gullible fans I wouldn't be working at all. That's 756 work hours PER HEAD. So, 756 spent on scripting and writing and 756 hours on art assets. And you tell me, all you get out of 1512 hours of work (not counting the additional "Mittsies" time, spent on rocketing tits to orbit) is:
      1. Placeholders consisting of a few still arts, recolored gui (I won't call it "new" because functionally it's the same), even more placeholder for "events", placeholder (read: shit and lazily done) for three-four animation. A bit of text.
      1a. Actually wait. Isn't this stuff mostly S-Tumblr? Then what the hell is H-Bomb doing in all this time. "Scripting", sure.
      2. G-g-guys, it will be refined! IT'S AN ALPHA (later it will be beta, later it will be in development and even later it will "an indie project, give it time"!). "Most likely" - so it's not even a certainty. Wow, great.

      Lastly, if you call the jump from part-time to full-time a jump of productivity, I guess you're right - he came along from not responding for a few weeks, to "doing stuff I have yet to see effects".
      You know what - he shouldn't hire an animator, programmer or a BGM guy. He should hire himself a boss. THAT would really increase effectiveness I bet.

      You're skipping over a few things, a fourth member was announced a mere post ago, Fleet is joining the team, which makes me believe you don't even read what's happening anyways, making your argument rather invalid.

      I stated that the game hasn't been 100% of their focus due to very reasonable things. H-bomb had to settle things with his old job and he moved, he had to spend a substantial amount of time finding the right people to do the job, so in the end only so much work could be done.

      And the concept of a placeholder is very variable, it can mean anything from a "LOL MORE SOON" sign, a still image, or a bare-bones, still-not-finished animation.

      If you think that the argument that it's in Alpha is a bad one, by all means, show me games that are 50-100% finished in Alpha. Oh wait, that's what we call Beta/Release.

      Sound and music isn't a top priority right now because that's not what people are coming to this game for, plain and simple.

      You're making this whole venture sound like "Press button, make game, ???, profit" and the fact that it takes a very small team time to make such a game a fair bit of time when they have very real issues to deal with, somehow a rip-off. If that's what you think, by all means, leave and make your own sex farming simulator with a 2 to 4 man team and make it faster and better with under 5K each a month, no one's stopping you.

      Another common misconception is that the team gets exactly what they are getting per month right now, they haven't been getting 5K each the entire time, and for at least the first month, H-bomb was still juggling a job and BS.

      And yes, I'm defending their work, is it fanboying? Maybe. But I've given my fair share of criticism (I don't care for the BreederxDickwolf roflcopter tits, I felt the dragoness' head is too small for her body) and reported bugs where they may be.

    1. Yea. At least you can see they are updating their blog page. If wanna know more maybe once a week on the progress of the game. If really nothing happen for a month then suddenly charges you, it wont be nice that way. Every update I will decompile its flash, I saw there are more changes from 5.1 to 5.2 after Fleet introduction. Cause sometimes when I get used to the game, I tend to do the same old ways which may not be initiating the new scenes or animations. After I know how to decompile there are many things done inside. I am neither the programmer nor animator. As long as they have enough man power, their work should be aligned with more changes and I noticed that too. Just keep the good work. :)

  37. Thank you for reintroducing some of Margo's facial expressions and gestures finally! I missed those details, since they make those characters far more believable.

    Can't wait for the implementation of S-Purple's latest draft of the breeder! Is this going to happen soon? I generally think that the breeder is one of the most important assets in the game, so she (or he some day) should look as cool as possible - including breeding scenes. Breeder x dickwolf for example reeeeally needs polishing.

    Instead of adding lots of late(r) game features, wouldn't it me smart to polish things early in the game firdt? After all that's what is responsible for the first impression and continued motivation to play. The central parts should shine first - then its time to move on to the periphery. Breeder, pregnancy, dickwolves, catgirls, breeding scenes with the aforementioned involved... this should be priority in my eyes.

    Just to let you know a perspective. Looking forward to the new stuff! Kudos!

    8. Bear in mind that what H and S (and possibly Mittsies) are trying to do is not just prepare an animation. They are trying to prepare an animation engine that can smoothly animate scenes involving numerous random elements (hair styles, eye styles, etc.) without the randomized elements taking away from the rest of the scene. That's significantly more complicated than just preparing a 15-frame animation of a scene (e.g., one style Holstaurus with one style Demon). I agree that the pace, planning and communications are not what I expect from people pulling down $20K/month on a full-time basis. But that's my choice ... to remain as a non-patreon and offer what fair critiques I can with respect to people from whom I'm getting something free.

I am unsure at the moment if you guys are still looking for a dedicated writer or not, I found the game during the original post in Krystal Forums quite a while ago, but since then there were... complications that hadn't given me free time to check on nearly anything for a long time, in fact it was only recently that I found how big it had turned out to be. As someone that writes both adult and more 'normal' (if you stretch the meaning of the word) works, and also someone that likes the naughty and fantastic aspect of the game, I wanted to try my luck.

    I'll be sincere and say that I have not the perfect English one could expect for someone that considers himself a writer, but I do my best and be it stories or otherwise, I try to give detail, follow the characters as best as possible and, well, I like writing in general. Despite the need of some proof reading with my works I try my best to have as few mistakes as possible, not exactly the easiest thing when you picture it in your own language and end up going with what sounds better, but as said it is not as atrocious as some native speakers. Not trying to undermine or praise myself, just stating the facts that at least I try my best, like anyone that wants to be a writer does, and that I still have a long time to go, but no artist ever ends their learning anyway.

    I wouldn't mind either simply giving a hand or something more serious if there was a spot for me, but that would probably depend on you guys and whatever standers you may have. I have both very old works and new ones that I could send as references, mostly short stories or more or less long ones, with the latest writing being twenty six pages long (roughly 27.500 words long, if any of you have the patience for a chapter that big WITHOUT porn) that may show me in my best light (and the help my proofreader provides, remember I am not perfect). However, more akin to the work you guys are doing, is something I have been cooking for the past week, however I would prefer not to say anything about it unless you guys are interested, though I'll warn you it is not something small either and doesn't have as much porn as you'd expect once you start reading, but a first chapter always is plot heavy anyway.

  51. I've been playing B-S since vers. 4.1 and I enjoy seeing it grow and change. This latest version (5.2) however is the first version that has locked up on me. It seems to happen when a dialogue pops up (beach event, random event, random "overheard", etc.). Unfortunately that is the only pattern I've noticed, I can't replicate it.
    Still a fun game, keep up the GREAT work.

  53. so i beat the game. stupid ending. cant wait for the real ending. took forever to finish but it was fun. loved the game. keep up the great work
