Simmer Down Now

I regret the wording I used in the last post as a lot of you seemed to have the impression that this was the finalized dickwolf design or that we wouldn't be paying attention to feedback in deciding how to move forward. What I posted was just a quick mock-up that Shwig made for me in a few minutes so I could post it up and see what people thought about the design. We'll keep on posting up things for feedback here, and yes we are paying attention to your feedback. Sit down and take a deep breath, the world is not ending, but we are making changes to the game. It is easy to get freaked out about changes to something you enjoy, however you also need to be reasonable; it's just a game.

Without trying to sound too harsh, I'm not making this game for you, I'm making this game for me. Every decision I've made so far has been on the basis of what I would like the see in the game, and seeing the game that I've envisioned become a reality is why I keep working on this project month after month. I will make decisions that you don't like in order to fulfill my own vision, and the harsh truth is that I will not feel a duty to cater to your wants unless you've directly contributed to the project in some way. I highly encourage you guys to give feedback and offer suggestions because it aids the creative process, but you have to understand that at the end of the day the only game I'm willing to make is the game that I want to make, not the one you want me to. I'm flattered that a lot of you have grown attached to my original designs, but if you're this attached to the things that I've made before then you should have some faith that I'll continue to make decisions that lead this game down the right path. Constructive feedback on what particular aspects of each design you prefer can help, and I really appreciate the comments that have done so intelligently.

I asked S-Purple to take over the art for this game because I felt his work did a much better job of approaching the vision I've had for this game than my own. Yes, I'm changing things. And yes, change is scary. However, this is the direction I want to take the game in. If your opinion differs then I'm sorry, but perhaps your vision and mine just won't line up.

Since a lot of people were upset about the idea of not having the animalistic-style dickwolves and stallions, we're looking at having animalistic variants released alongside the anthro variants. Here are some other quick, unfinished mock-ups of what we could possibly have the new dickwolves look like. Feedback is appreciated:

And, as a bonus, here are mock-ups of new designs for the catgirl and demon. Again, these are just mock-ups, and are subject to change significantly:

  2. Sound good to me, nothing brings a project to a halt then a creator that's tired for it, the rest of us are just along for the ride and if they cant accept that then they can make there own game.
Personally i do prefer the more animistic versions but i think both look great, maybe you have one as the normal monster and another as a trait like Futa and Neoteny.
also do you have any new in game assets from Shwig or are you still working on all that?

    1. Honestly that would be one way to appease the crowds is to program it into the traits system so if you don't like the animistic kind you can breed it out . But then again that could open the floodgates needing versions for all the creatures and the coding involved and getting bogged down by it.
Core game and Vision should always be ahead of extras otherwise the game won't end up anywhere.

I do really like the new artstyle, but I'm another one of those disappointed by the whole anthropomorphic thing. I can't hate if it's optional, but I'm here for bestiality, man, that's my jam. It sucks to see great (and rare) fetish material go by the wayside when there's other avenues for your furry fix, but if you want your anatomically correct animal penises attached to animals, your options are somewhat more limited. Lookin' sharp, though I think the "animalistic" fella could use a bit of a foreleg rework, and maybe the muzzles could be a bit longer on both. Can't wait to see how it all turns out.

  4. Gotta say, I was loving the demo. Knowing you're changing the art style for a better one is just fantastic. Thanks for all your work and by all means keep improving on this project the way you want to. This is your work and you'll only be satisfied if you do it your way. As for my opinion? One of the most interesting and fun pornographic games I've played. Especially fun.

I absolutely adore the variations on the monsters, Neoteny, Futanari, Albino and now Animalistic/Anthropomorphic. Great work so far, I look forward for this new version and the possibility of new monsters and variations of them.

  5. While it is a very interesting direction, I must agree that the wolf seems to suffer from Leifelds disease... That, and I agree with the anonymous above me, I really liked the the bestiality in this game.

    1. Unfortunately, judging from shwigs blog, we can expect some strange design choices, (that futa robot thing and the fat dragon or w/e the fuck it is). No bestiality anywhere which seems to me like he wants nothing to do with it. Honestly i dont like the direction this game is going, the new art looks good enough to be fair but dropping the fetish which gave this game its appeal in the first place is a bad idea.

  6. One piece of criticism i have is whats the difference between this new dickwolf variant and the demon? They look different but structurally they seem the same. both are big and bulky creatures is what I'm saying. I prefer the new art of the dickwolf on all fours, that way it offers more of a change. that way things don't seem repetitive in the game.

    1. That's the same problem as with the female characters, they all look the same. The artworks are nice, but that guy seems to only know one way to draw female characters and one way to draw male characters.

      Delete
    2. Hmm I never really saw much of a similarity with the woman. the harpies had wings and legs were structurally different. the holsuras aka cow women (probably not spelled right) had giant milkers and gave me this sense of their intelligent loopyiness. Cat women were like normal people with a few cat like additions. So really they all felt different to me.

      Delete
    3. I was talking about Shwig's art, obviously the NPCs for the female characters part but the catgirl follow the same pattern.

      Delete
  7. Holy Hell! The demon and catgirl looking vary good H-Bomb and to be honest with you the others seem to like the animalistic dickwolf better then the two legged version.

  8. I really dig all the new artwork and I can't wait for what comes next, although I must say I'll probably fall in with most people when I say that I'm not 100% about the anthro variants. However, with the addition of the "animalistic" variation I feel much better.

If I could say one thing about the animalistic and anthro versions of the dickwolf is that even the animalistic one looks like its been workin' with Dyrone. I wouldn't mind seeing the animalistic dickwolf looking a bit less like he just came out of a Mr. Universe competition (Especially his front two legs, holy shit they're HUGE). The same goes for the anthro version, he doesn't have to be scrawny but maybe he should put down the needle every now and then.

Other than that, I'm 100% loving the new art!

  9. Ok I was mad at the other style of monsters but if this will be an option to toggle between the two styles then I'm perfectly fine with this....still looks a bit weird but I'm sure we can get used to it eventually.

  10. The only complaint I could possibly have now is that Cordelia's skin is a little too dark compared to how it was before. Good work overall.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I've asked this before, but just curious. Would it be possible to have variable genital sizes? I'm thinking that they're based off of a stat that cannot be changed, but the size is inherited/improved upon from parents. That way we can have varying penis/boob sizes. Thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  12. MORE FUR LESS SKIN

  13. I'm impressed by the amount of updates lately. I like the new style - and I can understand how you're reacting to the criticism, some comments were pretty harsh. Don't take it personal.

Earlier you wrote, that those beasty versions might become a new trait - would that also affect females? Till now they've always been pretty anthropomorphistic already, so I personally would also appreciate some more variety there - although I know that these kinds of traits are the ones that increase the workload the most, due to animation.

Sometimes people just amaze me. Like, how do you even put conditions on a game you are not even making?
Let the Team do their job. Right now, more than ever, I'm supporting Hartista for just these words:

"Yes, I'm changing things. And yes, change is scary. However, this is the direction I want to take the game in. If your opinion differs then I'm sorry, but perhaps your vision and mine just won't line up."

Seriously, I hate when people its just demanding this without the will of give even a comment about it.
    - "I hate the new dickwolf! Change it back!"
    - "Why do you hate it?"
    - "I hate the new difckwolf! Change it back!"

    1. To be honest, this game is more or less Harista's fantasies put together (*cough*plus anybody who gave him some money*cough*). If he wants to replace the current artwork with the newer artwork (which I feel looks fucking fabulous), then he should be able to. This is Harista's game, so for better or for worse, he can do whatever he feels like to it. The changes he will make may drive some people away from the game, but it will also bring newer people in as well.

  15. Oooo, like the new Demon look, very dark and menacing. Although, I beginning to notice another pattern with the girls that they all seem to be having; they all have HUGE hips and thighs. While in proportion to men that is the case, they should be more variety there too. Like athletic /gymnast types with long legs, etc. Currently, it looks like the girls legs don't truly divide until you get to their knees.

The dickwolves.... meh, it kinda seems like he hasn't drawn a lot of animals before so the anatomy looks weird. Overly barrel chested and the snout seems too small (especially in proportion to everything else.) If I remember correctly, most quadrupeds have the knees reversed to how humans are built.

Overall though, the art is a huge step up than before, and he's whipping them out quite quickly which is a plus.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yea, wolf heads too small for the body. It could still look buff/animalistic and keep the buffness if the head was more proportionate

      Delete
  16. I'm very fond of the new designs overall, but the bulkiness of the dickwolf does seem a little odd. The upper body seems to be disproportionately large to the lower body, especially the arms/front legs compared to the back legs. For the animalistic version, I would see the back legs being much more powerful than the front (like most four legged animals in nature) and for the anthropomorphized version, I just envision something more lithe. Wolves tend be viewed as more quick and lean than huge and powerful. The bulky muscles seem more well-suited to the demon or possibly a bear monster sometime down the line.

Not that I wouldn't still play the hell out of the game with some muscly dickwolves.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree completely. It seems like he kinda took the anthro version of the wolf and made it angrier and gave it more muscles. It's a step in the right direction but it needs more work.

    2. Maybe something similar to say Jon Tailbane from DarkStalkers? I'm not saying copy, but maybe as reference material.

Now that I've said it, DarkStalkers in general wouldn't be a bad reference at all (lots of body types and monster ideas there).

      Delete
    3. Dark Stalkers is where the inspiration for a lot of my designs came from, actually. The catgirls are very much based on Felicia.

      Delete
    4. So how about female demons? Morrigan anyone? They may be too similar to harpies though. But it could be an excuse to have large muscly women.

  17. I am VERY excited for this visual update, to heck with all the people hating on this. I think people elsewhere have covered my points: mainly the fact that they're not the ones making the game and this is a strict upgrade.

I'm not entirely sure why people are complaining about the hip and breast sizes on monsters, I think it makes sense for, well, essential breeding stock to have features that make them look more fertile. And if you're not into those there's plenty of monsters to choose from (unless there's a massive change, I'm guessing Harpies will still be overall flat, and the Neoteny trait will still be present I'm sure). And you just talk to NPC's, it's not like there's any sex scenes with them, so I'm also a little confused why people are complaining about THEIR looks. Or did I miss a note about romancing up NPC's?

And people being unnecessarily upset over skin tone changes to being darker, remember that a lot of these NPC's also work outdoors a lot, so it makes sense some of them would be a bit tanner.

I admit that the male monsters look a little buff for my tastes, but I ALSO think that it adds to the style and stylization of the art, and a good, stylized art type is something that will hold up for a LONG time. For example, Wind Waker, which is a HIGHLY stylized game, still looks amazing to this day, meanwhile, games that had "the best HD graphics ever!" like HALO kinda look derp by comparison today. So the main point of this paragraph is saying that the stylization of the art will probably HELP the game in the long run.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I for one, am appeased. Thank you for hearing us out even if some of us are madder than we should be! I like the idea of having variants, and I still love the art!

    ReplyDelete
  19. The new art design for the buildings and people look great. They should definitely be changed right away but the art design on the monsters is much better the way it is now and should not be changed.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Has there really been that much backlash to the mockups? I always thought the original wolves looked kind of silly.

One suggestion, though: would it be possible to tie together variants in facial structure/expression to personality traits? The current design seems just a bit too snarly for a nuturing/gentle monster, and it would be nice to have more traits with visual cues.

    ReplyDelete
  21. True Point with being the own Center for making the game. In the end you have to like it, we as outstanding Players will like what you like or not.

I have to admit the second design of the dickwolf that is more animal like Looks good. I am not sure how the butt stallion will look like, but the animalic style of the wolf caught my interest. The human like Monster that you showed in the mock design look interesting as well. I love the style of the catgirl ^^ Not sure where the Artist gets his Inspiration, but the artwork would also work as a design for a side Scrolling game based on Monsters and hentai XD

I for my part will look Forward how you work will look in the end ;)

  23. While I enjoyed the cartoon-ish style of the old art this is good to in it's own way. My only suggestion with any of it, and I know these are quick drafts, the calf down on the male legs are just so tiny I can't take my eyes off them to appreciate anything else haha. Thanks for reading hope it helps.

  24. For the cat girl can we bring her hips in just a little bit she kinda looks like she has cancer or odd growths. I'd also have to see what Neotiny looks like in this version to make final judgments....

  25. Hate to be the killjoy that mentions this, but since it's been a fair amount of time since a last update on actual gameplay changes and most posts recently have been about stylistic changes (which i'm all for), when can we expect to find out what new ideas and changes we can expect in the game from the horse's mouth itself?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think these wolf mock ups are too inbetween. Either go with what u had in the last post, or full on wolf like the original design.

I like the catgirl a lot too, and I realize its a still picture, but I guess it would be nice if she were arching her back or something more sexy/catlike

  28. I prefer the last wolf mock up over these. These would look so much better if the head wasnt sooooooooooooo small

    ReplyDelete
  29. These are great.

A word of suggestion not related to the art but to community management:
Sometimes you will make a wrong choice and people will get mad. That doesn't mean you should write a whole long blog post telling people (summed up) "Be less mad, it's my game." The first three paragraphs accomplish nothing but making you look petulant , and should have been omitted. You're doing the right thing but another part of convincing people the game is headed the right way is saying the right thing - and sometimes it also matters what you don't say.
Related, if you ever do decided "fuck the community, I'm doing what I want" on a decision, read the comments, see if there's a way to make people happier without compromising your own vision. But after that, explain why you're making the choice you're making and then don't go arguing with people or even talk about it unless something changes.

    1. I agree. Hartista is possibly the worst I've ever seen when it comes to responding to his fanbase. So much so that just his wording alone can get people pissed. Frankly it's incredibly unprofessional, especially since he'll be charging people soon. If he wants any form of monetary gain from this, you just can't talk to potential or existing customers like that.

Especially since this ISN'T just "his" vision, considering he's going to be having people "buy" or "pay" for shit they want in. It'll soon be a "community" vision.

      Delete
    2. He can still do what he want and you can pay money to him if you like it. Is Hollywood asking you what you want to see in movies? Or did EA ask to players before games? At kickstarters even you just pay if you like it. So why should harista do different?
Yes you can get ideas from ppl but as a producer you get what you like from that ideas.
Don't forget, you can't make everyone happy, never... and if it's a fetishes community multiple that 'never' with 1000....
Harista please do what enjoys you...

      Delete
    3. Of course he can do what he wants, Kiran. But just because someone can do something doesn't necessarily mean they should. And "don't patronize your playerbase while whining like a bitch for no damn reason" is pretty sound advice. It also has fucking nothing to do with gameplay or actual content, so I don't really see where you're coming from here.

      Delete
  30. Any of what you said would have more validity if you weren't going to be charging people soon for content they want in. This all just seems like you got upset by a majority of the immature people unable to give criticism or opinions without being rude. If this is how you'll be dealing with people when they're paying for the content though as well, then I hope a lot less people are interested in contributing and you give people fair warning.

  33. Why are their dicks pure black? Is this some kind of weird censoring? Why does the wolf have pecks even though it's supposed to be an animal? The "dickwolf" looks a lot more like a werewolf, it's snout is also much too short in both cases. Also canine dicks are still not shaped like that. Where are the balls as well, hidden in the black?

  40. I rather like the new graphics but.. I'd like to see a bit more variation. Really it's not too difficult to shrink down the breasts, thighs, and hips. The same with the dicks. I'm very sure the artist is capable of doing so, if he just practices a few times.

I'd like to suggest the increase in muzzle length as well. Maybe make the chest on the bestial wolf a bit more animalistic. He seems more like the anthropic wolf simple bent over and got more clawlike hands.

I understand your frustration as a creator as well. In the end, this IS your project, but please remember that your fans that will keep you funded, and build your reputation.

And a last request.. could we maybe have a rough animation? If you can fit in the time? It'd be terrible to see all this artwork be unusable for animation. I'm not saying a perfect breeding, but maybe an idle animation of a monster you think is making it to the final cut. Like the demon is very appealing in my opinion. Or possibly the cat girl? Just an idea (It might satisfy a lot of people to, to see that the artwork will still spurt jizz everywhere like they want)

  41. I love the direction you and Shwig are taking things! You can't please everyone, and on the internet the negative opinions will always be more aggressively thrown around. Y'all are doing great stuff as far as I'm concerned!

My one little bit of constructive criticism is that the top anthro dickwolf in this post has a very angry/scary a face. That, combined with his clenched fists might make him look too threatening. He looks like he might want to eat the other lovely creatures O.O. Unless that's what you're going for, in which case: mission accomplished ;D The dickwolf on all fours has a much more neutral face and doesn't look as hostile or menacing, which I think sells the idea of a tame farm animal a bit better.

Good luck, and thanks to both of you for doing the work to actually put this all together and share with us. You have the absolutely right mindset in making the game you want to make.

  42. I'm not gonna lie, watching the comments fly by on the previous posts was absolutely hilarious. The amount of people who were absolutely losing it, over changes to a free game, ranting about betrayal and selling out was phenomenal.

I couldn't agree more with your post, and it is entirely the right thing to do. The only people you 'owe' anything to are people who have given you money, and it is your game, from now till completion.

I love shwig's art, and I'm excited to see where this is all gonna end up.

This will be my one and only post - so I thought I'd finish with something nice.
The vast majority of people who play your game, and will pay for the right to direct its course, to whatever extent you allow them to?
    They will never post.
They won't rant, won't leave long arguments, won't flip a metaphorical table every time you change something.
The verbal portion of a community is almost always the minority. And with Shwig on board, and his ridiculously large group of followers - both on tumblr as well as 4chan, and other sites he frequents - The community is going to get much, much larger.
Best of luck, and looking forward to what comes next.

Ok first positive, REALLY like the demon model, secondly not to sure about the catgirls pose, looks abit, forzen I guess or another word meaning unnatural that doesn't sound increadably ironic considering the nature of the game. Sorry too say previous speakers are right that the dickwolfs model still looks like an Anthropomorphic or furry thats gotten down on all fours instead of standing on two legs and in my book thats a bad thing. It's a monster breeding game not a brothel or slave game and humanising the monsters are not so much fun. Have the animal characters be animalistic and if you make monsters like the elven or demon thats based on more humanoid body shapes do them as that.

  44. Hell, I knew you had my kind of sensibilities in mind the first time I got a Monster with the "Herp-Derp" trait. Will be very interested to see the new looks for that.

  45. I personally very much prefer anthro critters to the more bestial ones, but I can definitely see a lot of people being upset about the change, since they were attracted to the game in the first place thanks to the bestial critters. An option on which to have seems like a very reasonable compromise, though I do fear it will be a fair bit of work, considering the other two optional features that have already been added. That's a lot of scene variations.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm ok with the anthro or the bestial or both it's all good to me.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well, for the animalistic wolf it'd probably be better to extend the length of its spine a bit to make its body more slender and tone down on the muscle just a tiny bit.
When it's animalistic in mind the thing that doesn't come to mind for me personally is bulk, I'd view it more as a predator, slick muscles capable of packing a lot of strength with little show of bulk to get in the way.

Though it might be possible that the reason he seems so bulky in comparison is because I'm comparing the current height of the wolf in the picture to the current size of the catgirl, which is a really drastic difference.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think Shwig's artwork is beautiful. I can see the suttle differences in each character the eyes, the chests, the different clothing styles. You have a very good art style and deserve high praise. Good job and I can't wait to see the next version of the game.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Personally I would like to see a more bestial tone.

It would be interesting if you could have an anthropic/bestial swapping trait. For example, the already bestial horse and stallion can get swapped to a more anthropic look and the same trait makes the catgirls, torus's, and harpies more bestial. More fur and feathers, with feline faces, quad tits and beaks respectively.

also, great to see you so active again!

    ReplyDelete
  50. The 'animalistic' version of the dickwolf above seems like it's legs are too thin to support it's body mass. Otherwise, awesome new direction and I can't wait to see what comes from your collaboration.

  51. I can lend a hand to rigging and animating, as well as copying the style for positions, but I can only spare weekends.

  52. The art is cool but it also kinda looks like one of them country farm games for prissy little girls. Being a women player, thats highly annoying. I'm hoping it won't keep that girly look from a girl game. The dickwolf looks pretty bad as well. It not proportionality correct, I prefered the old line art of that one as it was mean and looked like it could do some damage to the womb. The demon and the cat girls seam fine though really liked that line art as well as the towns line art. That one line art though for the players farm page, like I said to girly and to common. This doesn't seam like a fancy pants game for daisies but for the dark desires. I'm 50% here.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm in kind of a 50/50 here. I like that the visual aesthetics are being improved quite a lot. I like the previews of the UI and the farm and town and all of that... but I liked the monsters the way they were. I like the mock-up for demon and catgirl... but I don't like any of the mock-ups for new dickwolf.

I know, I know.. it's not MY game, so I don't really have any say about it, but you wanted feedback that wasn't full of butthurt and angry fists slamming down on the keyboard. I thought the old designs for all of the monsters were pretty cool the way they were, it's just the UI and farm and town and stuff needed a little work, and try to make the animations a little more fluid (and have more animations). Simple and basic instead of going for fancy and pretty. *shrug* It's your game, follow your vision. Thanks for sharing it with the world instead of keeping it to yourself.

  54. I'm floating with the 50/50 group... a LOT of the new artwork is VERY awesome! The Shading and layering makes it look more polished and I feel... professional. Overall character design I like some of the differences and I dislike some of them. Overall I'm with the group that the original "Wolven" design strikes me more, the longer snout to signify the wolf where the shorter is more dog/pug like. The muscle groups are nice and the cock looking more "dog" instead of human like is a good design. Catgirl the same, the "cute" look the girls used to have along with the more "mean" look of the male characters is something not to be lost in MY opinion. The DEMON is very good but I'd almost take that design, take the old design and see what their bastard baby looks like!
I'm proficient with Adobe Photoshop up to CS3 so if I can help with layering, mixing, separating into bits for animation, coloring, or etc... email me at my URL and I'll help out however I can, overall the game idea and design is a huge WIN and I'll help however I can to get this to progress!

  55. I have to say that animalistic is a lot more appealing to me than anthro. But then again that's just what I'm into. And I can't say I'm too hyped about the mockups. The heads on the dickwolves are rather tiny, and the legs are too skinny. I will agree with The Predator's post that the demons look awesome though!

    ReplyDelete
  56. the wolf/werewolf still looks like a walking (prowling?) tank, although it's a major improvement from the previous one that looked like it swallowed a barrel whole.
Also the scientist lady's shading could be a little bit more fair. Also also, that demon is huge, pretty badass too.
Also again, the catgirl looks awfully curvy compared to the original design.

Last also, the wolf's teeth are way too serrated and balance, not like you would expect on a canine.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm not sure I'll have anything to say that hasn't been said already, but it doesn't hurt to add my "vote." I, as a lot of others it seems, have grown pretty fond of the old art. That said, and no offense met, but I don't think I'll be missing it. Shwig is a great artist and I'm glad there can be more frequent, or at least more substantial updates in the future.

As for the mock-ups I agree with some of the comments here that the feral dickwolf looks more anthro than he should. As far as having one or the other (anthro or feral) I'm gonna guess there was already a plan for a trait or some-such so both could be included. (Maybe a "hybrid" trait to go along with human intellect?) As for the demon I think his face is bizarrely ordinary to the point its totally out of place. I don't know if you wanted to go for a more sophisticated "Mephistopheles" type of demon, but he really should look more intimidating in my opinion. The catgirl looks fine, the animation will speak louder than the design on the one I think. I wait with baited breath to see the rest of the critters through Shwig's eyes, though I do hope the harpy remains skinny. I've got no problem with all these new curves but some variety never hurt anyone.

All the new character designs are nice, honestly I wouldn't mind if they didn't change at all from their current redesigns, though I expect they will change. The character I most want to see though is the Player character, and I'm sure there's no way that particular redesign will be controversial among the community *he said sarcastically*. You know what'd be cool though; customization. I'd be willing to bet the idea has come up before but it'd be really neat to be able to control your own character's appearance (even if all it was was the hair and vague body shape, not sure how much the later would complicate animation.)

All in all I'm looking forward to whatever you come up with.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Maybe you could add an Alpha Dickwolf (Perk,Monster) i don't know honestly i prefer the wolf like one not the werewolf

    ReplyDelete
  59. A suggestion on the new dickwolf. Right now he in both the anthro and animal form looks very much like a Pitbull rather then a wolf. My suggestion would be Wolves are supposed to be muscular but sleek and they have a long almost elegant muzzle. My suggestion would be to trim him down, but keep the muscle definition, Longer arms and legs on the anthro, with the back legs bent backwards. Trimming him down would give him less of a squat appearance (like a Pit bull or bull dog) and elongate the neck and give him the more sleek agile appearance of a wolf.

    Just a suggestion.

  60. I actually got no complaints, I like everything so far, I'm also finding hilarious how people are getting seriously butthurt just because "it doesn't fuel muh fetishes" or bullshitting how they were betrayed over a free game in which paying is optional.

Anyway, what I'm actually worried about, is how the random hair/color palette is going to be handled with a huge leap graphics-wise and I absolutely loved all the different hair styles, skin color and also overall palette and I seriously don't want it gone or more simplistic.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Soo the artwork looks fine... but that all... this game has animation... that style would be a pain to animate... sooo great concept but i dont see it working out... Fustration then giving up and with this many people complaining about it... well enough said

  62. I think the dickwolf is the only one of the new designs I don't like.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wolves aren't really bulky creatures. Sure, werewolves are usually depicted as giant hulking monsters but wolves themselves are more scrappy, scrawny. It might look better if the dickwolves were more slender, still muscular, but just not on bodybuilder levels. It's just a thought, it might end up looking even more out of place but you asked for feedback, so here it is.

Anyways, love that there are two models for the dickwolves. Furries don't do anything for me but if I can have feral, animal wolves then I'm fine. Keep up the good work and I hope it won't be too much work to animate the new style.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Honestly, no matter what anyone says, these designs are far better than the previous ones, and I enjoy the style so much more than before. That being said, would it be better for the game to have straight up animals still? Sure. But at the same time, the whole style of the game has changed and might very well be BETTER without animals, compared to more anthro style characters.

The game is looking to turn into something that I would pay money for, if the way the new catgirl and demon looks is anything to go by (dem hips). I'm glad you stated that you are making the game YOU want to make, as that is the only way that a game will ever be any good. All flak you get from myself and many others for not posting updates etc, you are now doing a fantastic job with keeping people updated about these changes, and I encourage you to keep doing so.

Also, if the art and sprites are hanging for the better, I hope to see some pretty good animations (belly bulge intact, cumshot finishers, etc). Not that your old ones were any bad, but this type of art seems like it could have far better animation behind it. All of these people saying it would be hard to animate this type of style, probably don't do very much animation.

In the end I think you are going in a great direction... if you love the changes and it makes you more motivated to actually make the game, then by all means, keep doing what you feel is right. In the end the worst thing that could happen is you will upset people, and get other people interested with the new style. Besides, it's not like there are people hoping you do anthro stuff and will be turned off if you don't and in situations like these, you basically have to do what it is you think is right for the game, which is what you have already stated you are doing.

Keep up the good work! I look forward to updates in the future.

  69. I can completely understand your decision on letting Shwig take over the art duties. I don't mean to sound rude but your art style was very "Flash" and not very professional. I don't mean that it's bad. It had it's own feel that is great, BUT Shwig's art work makes this game look official. I really wouldn't be surprise if later down the line you sell the game. That's how the quality changed, It looks good enough to sell.

Again: Your art wasn't bad, I didn't say it was. And you could tell that a person made it for themself and just shared it. Shwig just took it to a whole new level.

  72. No offense to you man, but I couldn't get into this game because of the style. I'm really glad you decided to rework the aspect and to such level. Honestly I can't wait to try out the new stuff. And if it hasn't been already said, make more use of "accessories" like stockings heels and so on. Combined with the random system you use for the hairstyle and faces it would make a huge difference diversity-wise.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I do think the new dickwolf designs are much better than the first one. That being said, the 'beast' variant of the dickwolf would probably look better with a more lithe design and less obvious/bulky musculature. It could also benefit from a larger head and longer muzzle. As it is, its general shape is more bearlike than it is wolflike.

By a similar token, the catgirl could do with somewhat slimmer hips, since cats are by nature very lithe and nimble creatures.

    Just my two cents.

    ReplyDelete
  74. As might be expected, a chorus of drama upwells from the announcement of notably large stylistic changes...

Normally I'd comment, but variously from various people, most of what I would say, has been said already, so I'm going to just step past all the shouting:

People who like what they see will be more likely to support the game when the time comes; people who find that the things they really liked the game for are no longer around, likely won't... and the truth remains a large portion of the player-base so far were and are keen for the beasty content in particular and trimming that away or pairing it down severely is most likely going to push away more than it will bring in.

That said, a constructive feedback, regarding the mock-ups here; I'd agree with the voices who say that the wolf in particular, is not helped by excessive muscle-mass. It just doesn't look or feel right. The original arts had them looking a bit scrawny, true, but it's entirely possible to give them a look that is more solid and sturdy, and imposing, -without- turning them into muscle-bound beef-cake creatures. As other's have noted, for being -wolves-, their look ought probably be leaning towards the sleeker, than the bulky.

I really enjoyed the cute factor of the teeny models, so I hope that's not going away, just personally...

  75. I don't know what's that fuss is all about. Those designs are awesome. When I found this game, I thought it's great, but too bad it don't have better art and day later you are showiing new concepts. I'm happy about the changes, you should keep going with what you think is best for the game. Thank you for providing us with this great game.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Feedback? Cool. I'll bite.

I guess you could (should?) listen to all these voices and concerns, but generally speaking... well... kinda don't restrain yourself too much. Really, you're asking for input a) in a closed focus group b) anonymous persons c) persons whom somehow feel entitled to *something* which is just borderline insane. This is silly; you're making the game, not them. You can't please anyone and there will ALWAYS be some vocal minorities that scream:

    This _CHOICEA_ is awful/great; why didn't you/hopefully you didn't go with _CHOICEB_!111oneone!!! I HATE YOU/LOVE YOU I HOPE YOU DIE/LIVE FOREVER.

You'll never-ever please everyone. Persons whom are disappointed and threaten to "omg leave you forever; you sold out; you _RANDOM_THREAT_ will persist even if you made the best game of the century.

Also, I mentioned closed groups - you asked a question in your blog, which consists mainly of the followers of the first iteration of your game (myself include). Obviously, some of them might prefer earlier designs, because that's what caught they interest. An obvious truth, but a truth nonetheless - same question asked on a futanari forum would give you answers that include lots of "dicks"; same question asked on a furry forum would... uhhh... let's not cross that line on second thought.

Borderline: Art design is very subjective, but it will ALWAYS appeal to SOMEONE. With either choice you'll lose some ppl but gain other. It's fluid and I think both you and the artist should proceed with what you think is best.
Also, you're asking for an opinion random guys on the net, which tend to be very entitled special snowflake drama queens. That's bad, you shouldn't do it ^^.

Last but not least (it's feedback, right?) I love the first "new" design most - it had dick, it had wolf, it looked like an asshole (DICKwolf, you know) and I think the warewolfish look is better for wolves.

No matter what, I personally keep supporting you... unless you'll bend over to furfags :D (In which case, I'll support the freedom of your choice, but I'll cry myself to sleep over that particular choice XD).

  77. For me it is insignificant what kind of wolf you use (top sample), I can see both types of them in the game, but it is work and to much work is bad!

Both can be implemented when the humen player or elven char is involfed in the breeding or not! This makes a case up that make much work, it is simple an idea!

    The Dickwolf:
Dickwolf+Mockup1: Is in the style of the first farm picture!

Dickwolf+Mockup2: I finde the second better as the first but it loses more of the happy stile from the game! What form of effect do you want to reach! More an earnestly style or the old kind, I prefer the new! It makes the game more intensively! The old is mostly watch able in the farm picture and them cages. Do you want to locelayse a other style then the old picture are no more in the same status of earnestly!

Dickwolf+Mockup3: The saddle is interessting shows future uses or specializations of the creatures reach by breeding!

    The Demon:
Demon+Mockup: The demon can be seen but must to near at the male elves in his face style but it isn't really immportend! Nareby, I think how can I hold such an muscular creature on my farm!?

    The Catwoman:
Catgirl+Mockup: The cargirl does not have to hold his hands up in this way and the fur at the thigh shouldn't such grade, it would be better when the fur are more in form of "(http://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-large/half-moon-ben-haslam.jpg)". (more sexy and naturally)

Have fun in creation of it!

    K.

  78. In my opinion, the shoulders of the feral Dickwolf should be put a bit more back, more inside the chest, to give it a more animalistic look. the hind legs should have a more wolf like look as well (so far it almost looks like the anthro just dropped on all fours). I like the head of the feral one, but the anthro is a bit derpy. maby put the feral one on both?

I can live with the new Demon. Getting more out of this design than before (tbh all I used demons for so far, was lowering stats) The new cat girl is hot. Though I kinda miss the fluffy, huge feet. might try a digitigrade design?

Overall, I would love to see some additions like being able to let futa monsters have balls, having a short pregnancy period for monsters (like 2-3 days or so) and maybe giving monsters a sexual focus (straight, bi, gay, pansex, you name it) so you get a stat booster if you let them bang the partner they want (let them have the hots for some monster?)(might display this in a HYPER-GASM thingy xD raised chance of pregnancy and sutff, you know?), instead of the default value if you let them mate against their desires. (maybe even being into humans °o° which could be shared with elves )

oh and make HERP-DERP leveled xD I wanna see those abominations grow uglier with every stage :P

  79. Trust me, the last thing I ever wanted to do when I criticized the new dickwolf earlier was to make it feel like I was trying to make you build the game my way even though it's your game. my only intent was to offer a few pointers about what I thought looked better, but would have been able to live without. I'm a game maker myself, and i know how frustrating it is when people try to tell you to do a game a certain way or it'll suck, and trust me, that was not my intention.

  80. How about having two typee of monsters
    1. The pure animal monster
    2. The crossbreed between human and monster - this would of course require not only male offspring like it is now.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I prefer the non-anthropomorphic version of the wolves, personally. Just a possibility: Make "Anthropomorphic" an inherited trait, like Neoteny or Futanari, and maybe have it come from breeding with the player, ala Human Intellect.

Or an easier route might be simply a "bestiality" toggle in the settings. On gives "feral" wolves/stallions, Off gives Anthro.

    Just my two cents

  82. Personally I find the new art overall much better but I do have one aspect I'd like to see changed slightly on the new Dickwolf art. To me the snout should be longer and a bit thicker. Delete
    2. Ah the new art is nice but dear good he can't draw boobs. I mean those breasts are hideous.
I know attraction is different for each human but I think 99% of humans are not attracted to nipples the size of dinner plates.
Looking at his blog he seems to have a thing for horrible innie-nipples and breasts that are too big.

I loved Harista's cat girls and harpies due to their nice well-rounded boobs but I fear that this new art direction will saddle the game with a bunch of grotesquely buxom women with horrendous looking nipples.

      Delete
    3. Dunno, the breasts on the original catgirls sagged a little much for the size they were. The way they're hanging on the new mock-up is more realistic and less silly. Not to mention that the upright posture looks less painful - backs shouldn't bend at that angle the originals had.

Admittedly, it was highly entertaining to watch the original boobs bounce around, even if they were a bit tube-shaped.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I like the anthro design more than the feral shown. The feral one just looks like the anthro on all fours, not like a proper feral. Either would be nice, an in-game option between the two would be fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Hmmm... I think the muzzles could be longer for both wolves, and the animal wolf's head looks way small. But other than that...

You said that you wanted the basics more anthro, but might add new animalistic males later. Would there possibly be slightly more animal-like females as well? The males had a pretty wide range to begin with, but the females all have the same basic body. They're human with their lower arms and legs replaced, plus ears and tail. I think it would be cool to see more variety there.

Of course, the new catgirl looks like she's moving more in that direction already. Her paws look less like gloves than the originals, which is way cool. And the boys look pretty bad-ass.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I love where this game is going, I would just like animations to fap to mostly

  97. Just make sure the art is not too complex to look good when it's being animated, or when its colours change due to breeding. I, too, like the bipedal design of the dickwolf (I've always been a fan of werewolves). Are you going to redo the butt stallions as well?

    ReplyDelete

  99. Feedback? Ok.

I already said I perferred your designs to Schwigs. This hasn't changed.
Yours are simpler and seem to fit with the cartoony/game theme perfectly.

The new catgirl and dickwolf seem to diverge too much from the original concept. Even the new "animalistic" dickwolf still looks like a warewolf on all 4. The rear legs dont' look at all like that of a canine. The head also seem to small compared to the body. Not everyone needs to be buffed.

The demon looks like WoW dark elf druid.

The catgirl... not a fan of fully hairy legs. Prefer it if it was just the lower part.

  100. I'm just a simple lurker/enjoyer of fine pornographables, but I wanna put in my two cents nonetheless.

The old art was adequate, the new art gives the game an aura of professionalism. Not to mention its sexy as. It's a bit change but it is certainly a change for the better. For those of you complaining about the new art, the benefits of having an artist on with a project are huge. Mr. Bomb made the right choice, I had never heard of Mr. Shwig before, but his art is incendiary. Even the new farm update got me excited.

If I were to offer something, perhaps give the demon a slightly hunched posture and have his arms longer, probably hands around his knees or so. Demons should look a bit menacing, with bad posture.
As for the anthro, well, I can certainly understand the people worrying that the fetish that brought them here in the first place might be phased out for a more mainstream style. I myself am also worried about this.
However, if you think about it, although hot, the full animal style limits the sex animations in a number of ways. So you could probably expect to see some damn decent animations even if it were to become the norm.

Anyway, in summing up, I think we are stepping in the right direction.
Also good on you for sticking up for your new artist buddy.
